About Me

I take night classes, going to take forever to get my degree. I have 3 children, 23, 21 & 11. Last one was a shock since I had my tubes tied 10 years earlier. I like politics and history.

I collect McCoy pottery, old marbles.

I am an American. Before any partisan affiliation or political alignment, I am An American First. Before any ethnic heritage or pride, I am An American First. Before the world community I am An American First. Before the triumphs and tragedies of my forefathers, I am An American First. Throughout all of history I shall ever be, by the grace of God, An American First.

Andy Garcia, T.S. Eliot, Dennis Miller, Clint Eastwod, Thomas Sowell

My favorite movie is The Outlaw Josie Wales. It is the only movie I could watch over and over.

Papillon, The Shining, The Hobbit,

I don't like that man. I must get to know him better. ~Abraham Lincoln

The best defense against usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry.
-William F. Buckley, Jr.

"Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”
- Winston Churchill , Speech in the House of Commons (11 November 1947)

Here I encounter the most popular fallacy of our times. It is not considered sufficient that the law should be just; it must be philanthropic. Nor is it sufficient that the law should guarantee to every citizen the free and inoffensive use of his faculties for physical, intellectual, and moral self-improvement. Instead, it is demanded that the law should directly extend welfare, education, and morality throughout the nation.

This is the seductive lure of socialism. And I repeat again: These two uses of the law are in direct contradiction to each other. We must choose between them. A citizen cannot at the same time be free and not free.
-Frederic Bastiat
