It's best to replace the rusting screws if you can. That being said if you remove the screw you can clean them up by putiing them in CocaCola. The acid in coke will eat a lot of the rust off and then rinse them off, dry them and lightly oil them, and dry them again. You don't want oil bleeding into your guitars finish. As for cleaning the guitar wiping it down with a dry towel is a good practice, Another way to remove dirt and build up on a guitars finish is to use auto polishing compound. It comes in different grits and you want to use one of the finer compounds thats rated for final finish or gloss finish. the stuff will remove alot of the sweat, dirt, and oils that get built up from handling guitars. If you want to find replacement screws try looking up "StewMac" on your search engine, You will find the website for Stewart McDonalds and guitarist /luthier supply house. Thety have just about anything you will ever need and a host more information then I can provide.
