+6 raves I just spoke to my son who is a Master Sgt. in the Air Force and I asked him about this. He told... I just spoke to my son who is a Master Sgt. in the Air Force and I asked him about this. He told me that the Air Force does not work this way. You can leave when your enlistment period is finished. It does not matter who the commander in chief is. The president is the president. He said he had not heard of such an option. My son is near retirement, but was discussing extending his duty for retirement purposes. Believe me I have spent many a sleepless night wondering how he was when he was deployed. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of him. He was not an Obama supporter, but I have to admire his service and dedication to his country and the president elect. (more)
