About Me

I'm short, I'm chubby, and I'm a bookworm. Hmm.. what else? I own hamsters (1 syrian, 2 russian dwarf hamsters), tropical fish (2 glassfish, 6 glo-lite tetras, 3 oto-cats), and love most animals of any kind (yes, that includes reptiles!).

Honestly, I've no idea who I'd like to meet. I don't have any cliche answer like "the president" or "Elvis!" ... I guess, perhaps, just some of the cool people I've 'met' online, just so I could see them and hang out with them in real life. They're cool people and far more realistic a goal than meeting the Queen of England or something. I guess if I had to choose famous people... hmm....

First - I don't like to just 'meet' people, though that's all well and good. I'd want to -do- something. Go to a theme park, or see the sights in the area... something fun.

But here goes the famous people list, since it probably should be done (though I've met one or two of these people before):

Brian Molko, Darren Hayes, Craig Parker, Tom Felton, Tamora Pierce, Steven Blum, Quinton Flynn

When I can, I like to ride horse-back (English Saddle) and figure-skate. I also write fanfiction from time to time, and can more often than not be caught with a book in my hand.

Reading, writing, video games, horse-back riding, ice-skating, some music, and my pets

Cruxshadows, Voltaire, ThouShaltNot, Bella Morte, Placebo, Savage Garden, Darren Hayes

The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Scrubs, Ghost Hunters, ALF

Sweeney Todd, The Dark Knight, Independence Day, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Legend, Labyrinth, ... oh dear lor.... this could take forever. Let's just say I like movies a LOT.

Most of Anne Rice, Stephen King, L.J. Smith (yeah, they're for young-adults, but ah well), The Looking Glass Wars, Harry Potter... basically anything that grabs my attention and holds it for more than 10 seconds.

"The road to he** is paved in good intentions; the road to heaven in honest attempts." -- paraphrased from Rogue of the Cruxshadows, and edited so I don't get it banned off the site
"If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?" -- unknown

Granted, I wouldn't encourage anyone who is sick - regardless of what illness they had - from donating, it isn't sexual preference that should be dictating anything.

China has the same taboos on eating people - even fetuses - that we do, just like the Taiwanese in this snopes article.

This is an effort to demonize an entire ethnicity, and it's almost as abhorrent as the action they're describing.

Its a dirty tactic, and used for for thousands of years, both during war and during times of peace, to dehumanize any group of people another group saw as competition.

They taught this then, and knew well before that point in time that algae did the most converting of CO2 to Oxygen than any other plant in the world. Mainly because the earth is covered 70%+ by seawater, and surface algae is found in most seas. So... it only stands to reason that algae did a lot for us.

I miss my Marine Biology days....

Every time I take a political test, I *do* find a slight lean toward the left for me, but I'm so close to center it's not even funny. My left-ward lean? In social 'rules'. I'm very much pro-choice and pro-gay-rights/gay-marriage, so that tends to shove me over the line. In every other aspect? I'm dead center, and even will have a conservative lean.

One of my coworkers managed to get off work to join the rally - she had three rainbow scarves and some rainbow pins she was handing out. :-D

Myself? Despite the fact I know it was more toward Prop8 in Cali, I had NoH8 on my cheek while I was working, and a rainbow scarf over my shoulders. I thought for sure someone would report it for being anachronistic at faire, but no one did. ^_^

I wish I could have joined you guys! :-D
