I am not looking at your profile so I don't know your age, but it could be an important factor. At several times as boys and girls grow there are distinct growth spurts -- so in some years it is normal for girls to be taller than boys their own age. Most boys do catch up and have a big growth spurt in the early teens, where a young man who was 4'11" may shoot up to over 6' very rapidly.

If you're not sure and this guy seems to be lagging way behind other boys his own age, try asking him about his parents. You can be subtle and not actually ask about whether Mom and Dad are short -- it'll come up if it's an issue.

Now, all this is ignoring the politically correct admonitions about it not mattering whether he's going to be tall or not. Of course it matters, or you wouldn't even mention it. The thing is, if you find out that you're likely to be looking down at the top of your beau's head forever, then you have to make a decision whether that's off-putting enough to warrant breaking off your relationship.

*Edited: checked your profile -- at 15-16 years old, it is pretty likely that this guy will have a major growth spurt within the year.
