Not surprised...however the Bible is read in the wrong ways, teachers have misinformed us of what it is! It was a guide book for religious leaders and their churches! It was a moral code for living our lives by, it is not to be used as a "weapon" (as was stated in the movie Saved!) or to make us feel like we can't ever be good enough. It is simply a book that can answer questions or give us moral ways to deal with things! If you look at the layout of the Bible you will understand VERY little of it is actually practical for MOST humans outside of the ministry! The Parables are the things we need to observe because they are teaching us moral lessons! (more) -

+2 raves I think on a rare occasion a local pastor preaching the word is great to listen to for a moral/et... I think on a rare occasion a local pastor preaching the word is great to listen to for a moral/ethical reminder...I think the big well known ones have lost sight of what they went to school for! A pastor's MAIN job is to nurture a group of people and help them grow! They are supposed to be there to be the "Shepherd". A pastor in a church is there with the staff moving the flock in one direction or the other (whether it's the right one or not depends on the pastor). A pastor on a TV does not have the opportunity to help MOST of the people listening. They are simply preaching a belief system and not there to answer questions or help the people that are struggling with certain issues! If a Shepherd has a "flock" of 50-100 they can take care of that group well! If they have 500 they have a difficult time maintaining that "flock". If they have a nationwide group of people they have no chance of getting all of those people together and helping them with their needs...It's like being able to feed them with a mouth full of crackers, but there's no water when they start choking on it or no one there to rescue in the serious times! Calling EBONICS a language instead of slang or something else acknowledges them as "normal" or as something acceptable! It's like saying Pig Latin is a language...it's a joke...they have a way of speaking, great, but we are in America and we speak ENGLISH :) (more) -
