About Me

I enjoy peace, family, friends, and a good book, most currently reading about Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain in the 15th century. Originally from Hawaii, I have resided in Southern California for the past several years and love it for very specific reasons, such as the lack of bugs, humidity, and oppressive heat and for the abundant resources available in the land of fruits and nuts. I was an underwriter in the mortgage industry for several years and saw the current crisis coming.

Bill Moyers, Bill Mauer, J.k. Rowling, Ellen Degeneres, Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Nancy Rubin, Martha Stewart, Gerard Butler, Nicole Kidman, Pete Jackson, Viggo Mortenson, Warren Buffet, Meryl Streep, Clive Owen, Dalai Lama to name a few.

Walking along any coastline, photography, crocheting, horseback riding, tutoring, studying, reading,

Interested in my family, in truth and honor, respect and improving myself through yoga and buddhism. I love the ocean, coastlines, swimming, snorkeling, and sailing and photographing all of it. I love books and love to read, especially history and a well crafted story.

Classical, some rock, some country, some jazz, and some blues.

I do not own a television, but, I have rented the DVD series Rome and Lost.

Lord of the Rings, all three, Out of Africa, Gosford Park, 300, King Arthur, Seven Years in Tibet, Shall We Dance, In the Name of the Father, Schindler's List, Titanic, DaVinci Code, Gone with the Wind, Chocolat, Harry Potter, Sorcerer's Stone, Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Casino Royale, The Departed, Beyond Borders, A Knight's Tale, Four Feathers, Casanova, The Dark Knight, National Treasure, Leaving Las Vegas, Ever After, Goya's Ghost, The Sea Inside, Chariots of Fire, Bonnie and Clyde, Easy Rider, The Godfather I, Jaws, Laurence of Arabia, Clash of Titans, Becoming Jane, Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird and many more.

  • I do? Actually, there are many interesting folks on SH. I find yours interesting as well, especially the info about migrating here from Germany. So, you live along the banks of the "Muddy", how fascinating. I visited Jackson, Miss, last year and found it to be a fun town. And yes, America, is, indeed, a great country and I am also quite cheerful about being a part of it, other than the governmental turmoil facing all of us for not only years, but, generations to come. So, I'll plod along and check out factcheck.com, as you recommended. Take care.

  • Hi Meryl, my avatar is Japanese kanji for 'Samurai.' I'm big into the asian culture, especially Japan, and I am a huge samurai and ninja enthusiast. One thing I love about Japan is, they still live with a system of honor and respect.
The street sign is in Torrance, CA. I'm originally from Torrance but I currently reside in New York.

    Goodnight.

  • Dear Ellen, it is so refreshing to receive a positive and informative post. I am still learning the SH ropes and your info is invaluable, which I will cheerfully abide by. I must admit, it is readily apparent that "weirdos" thrive on this site, and for the most part quite easy to spot. I will certainly add you to my top SH as the first Agnostic, a pattern of thinkng I wholeheartedly enhance.
Good to see other Agnostics as well. Thanks again, have yourself a perfect day.
