About Me

I live, sometimes at odds, with the world - sometimes in a nice harmony. The dance between the sacred and the profane is life...

Einstein, Bob Dylan, Socrates, WC Fields, Christ, and Lazarus. Oh, and Buckminster Fuller.

Bicycling, Swimming, TV, listening to music.

I enjoy gadgets, camping, swimming in the ocean, and talking with friends. Music is a passion, film and reading is inspirational. Nature is where I recharge my batteries...

Bob Dylan, Allman Brothers, Towne Vanzant, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Bruce Springsteen, Poco, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Steve Forbert, Van Morrison, The Tubes, The Doors. And too many more to mention.

Apocalypse Now, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Seventh Veil, Full Metal Jacket, 2001.

Dune Trilogy, The Rabbit, Steps to an Ecology of Mind, Utopia or Oblivion,

"Heros are getting a little hard to find," Ian Anderson

  • I found Cohen on one of the sodyheads I was communicating with. I had never heard of him before and absolutely "fell in love" (: He was on PBS one night and I went out the next day to get a CD of all his recordings. Now I don't have to just go to my page to listen to him. LOL

Have a great weekend. I have jumped into a few frays this morning as I got up so early and now me thinks I'll take a break because I have this feeling its going to get a tetch snarkey. LOL

  • They didn't!?! How about this:

The nun shots are from a play I was in this summer. My character was a circus performer before she took her vows. I actually got a lot of my info for character development from Sister Jean. Crazy, eh?

  • Yup! let's talk more later. I gotta hit the shower for that job I'd rather not go to today! Of course, I do very little. That is why I've stayed in security for 8 years now. EASY and I have time to write, read and do whatever I choose most of the day. Only reason I blog at CNN is that the job blocks most of the internet. I sure do wish we could get the circus into rehab. Later.

  • I will have to find it in my collection. I have never forgotten that line. Another one I never forget is from "It's alright Ma". "...advertising signs, they con you into thinking you're the one that can do what's never been done, that can win what's never been won. Meanwhile life outside goes on all around you.."! "...Sometimes even the president of the United States must have to stand naked..."! Same song, "...flesh colored christs that glow in the dark,it's easy to see without looking too far that not much is really sacred..." and "...money doesn't talk it swears...". I'll find the reference above today on way to work and tell ya later. Have a good one.

  • I just love that we share so many likes. Your toilets crack me up! I am up way too early today and have to leave for work at 6:45. I just hate it when I "...You lose good sleep when you dig down deep..." (Dylan). Oh, well, it hasn't killed me yet. Hope you have a wonderful day and you must be in a later zone than I am. Lata, way lata! :)

The "pools" were becoming smaller and smaller, day-by-day and the gators were forced to find enough water to cover themselves and found each other crowded uncomfortably close together. They became increasingly hostile, both to 'outsiders' AND among themselves.

Fox is the only watering hole in this ever-increasing drought for the GOP. They have become increasingly hostile like the reptiles that evolution passed by in the Everglades.

They have begun to eat their own. Lindsay Graham is a prime example. He is no longer right-enough. And he dared to disagree with Glenn Beck. Michael Steel was taken out to the wood-shed and paddled for calling Limbaugh an entertainer.

How many more will be eaten in Fox's quest to be polarizing? Weisberg says, "By showing that ideologically distorted news can drive ratings, Ailes has provoked his rivals at CNN and MSNBC to develop a variety of populist and ideological takes on the news."

Some might argue that CNN or MSNBC didn't have to follow suite but television is a ratings game.

Capitalism is based on Widget A being better than Widget B. And as the demand for widget A grows, investors support the company that builds Widget A. That is true trickle down economics.

The whole derivatives market, creates no widgets. It only sucks money out of the system. Heads I win, tails I win is not capitalism...

Organize and yell. I called the public opinion office of the white house today, I called my congressman and my senator about the bonuses the bandits are giving themselves out of OUR money! I'm with ya'!

One thing you could not get on TV was the smell. I'd be driving with the windows open across town and it would be fine, suddenly the overwhelming smell would make you gag. It was the smell of death. I saw a guy, dead in the street that was blown up like the pillsbury dough boy.

Beck is a sad delusional excuse for a man. Forget about a 'news commentator' Commentate this, jocko!
