+3 raves I know where every cent of my lottery winnings will be going, and it will NOT get blown on stupid... I know where every cent of my lottery winnings will be going, and it will NOT get blown on stupid-teenager-useless-crap! Some of it will go to build homes for my siblings and myself; some will go to animal welfare charities and no-kill shelters; some will be invested in family trust funds; and if there's any left, it will go to build and support a concert hall to provide local talent, theatre, and music groups an affordable performance venue.

Let's also hope that, while they're fixing the budget mess here, they will also tend to the problem of legislators who get paid NOT to work, plus get per-diems in addition to salary when they DO bother to work, get expense accounts and travel benefits and paid admin staff, etc-etc-etc-BARF!
No one ever talks about cutting back all the unneccessary perqs and freebies our politicians are constantly awarding themselves!
PS: So far, as a self-supporting, full-time employed, tax-paying citizen, I have not noticed ANY lack of services or necessities of living with this latest budget debacle - maybe if California eliminated all the programs I and the majority of Californians aren't eligible for, simply because we are US citizens and we WORK, it would solve the problem long-term. Sure, I'll miss him - when history writes his biography, hopefully it will remember that the real estate/mortgage crisis was actually engineered by Carter, with Bubba putting the final nails in the "stupidity in lending" days of sub-prime mortgages and lending to people with no chance in hell of ever making their payments. Alan Greenspan and his de-regulation policies added to the disaster. AND - the mortgage meltdown started this whole economic meltdown, so we STILL have Carter, Clinton, and Greenspan to blame, not Bush.
I have always disagreed with his policy anent the war in the middle east, but only because I firmly believe he should have retaliated on Sept. TWELFTH with every conventional bomb in our arsenal, carried by every bomber he could mobilize, and bombed Iraq and Afghanistan back into the stone age. THAT's how you deal with terrorists, from a position of strength - it'll give any who are still alive second thoughts about trying it again!!! (more)

Expecting anything from Rolling Stone to be other than far-left-liberal in it's views is like expecting the bible-thumping whackos to endorse Roe V. Wade.
I agree with neither - I'm a GOLDWATER Republican, and expect the federal government to stay the h**l out of my private life, stay out of my wallet, stop using my taxes to pay for entitlement programs for which I am not eligible, and stop supporting illegals who have no right to be in my country in the first place.
I want to see a TRACK RECORD, some real-world experience, not just an ego and a facility with words. The last thing I want is a philosophical "used-car-saleman"/all-flash-... representing me for the next four years.
