Having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era I have kept up with the stories of Marines and others from the Military Services who went into politics over the past few decades. Murtha is quite simply a corrupt, contemptible, anything for a buck politician who is surrounded by similar types in Washington. However, several years ago I saw the 60 Minutes program segment on Murtha which revealed him being offered a bribe by a government agent posing as a wealthy Arab. Although Murtha did not make a grab for the money outright, he did talk and act as if he was just waiting for the ante to be raised...at a later date. I have dismissed John Murtha from my mind ever since. He is a crook, and there is plenty of documented evidenc out there to prove it, yet he still gets reelected by his constituents time after time. He is not just a corrupt Democrat, he is a completely corrupt human being on all levels. He disgusts me and anyone else with a functioning brain and morals. And, he is a disgrace to the USMC. (more)
