The oil in alaska is nearly impossible to dig out (it will cost more to get the system set up to get the oil OUT than the oil is worth, thus far. if prices continue to rise this may change) and won't even supply the us for a year. The us currently buys more than half of its oil from other countries, so saying it will out US production for so many years is a spin tactic. The wildlife on the preserve however, is all able to renew it'self and is absolutely irreplaceable. You can't find an "alternative" arctic fox if you kill them off. (more) -

+2 raves There is actually a problem with the genetically modified foods.... namely that they opened the g... There is actually a problem with the genetically modified foods.... namely that they opened the gate way for corporations to "patent" seed types. Many of them buy the patents simply so smaller farmers cannot grow the seeds, so that they're forced to use the GM seeds and products that go with them. This means that basically there are 6 crops in the world that we eat. (and wouldn't you know it, this is one thing that i could have told you two months ago, and the preggo hormones have chased out of my head!!) All the bio-terrrorists have to do is find one disease and they can LITERALLY starve the world. (more)

People in countries around the world who eat guinea pigs are cruel.I know that we eat chicken,cows,pigs and lamb but they're not pets.I dont mean to offend people who eat this animal but I think it is wrong.You see I have two Guinea pigs. If I was starving and I had nothing else to eat except Guinea pigs I still would NOT eat these beautiful creatures.please stop them!:(

omg, it's suprising that people actaully eat cute things!!! i know for a fact that people actually eat guinea pigs and cats in some places in south america...so sad
