    The only hypocrisy I see is that of the Republicans who rant and rave over their phony "moral outrage" over abortion while at the same time making sure that any of their own members who want to claim their constitutional right to control their own body can do so without reaching into their own pockets to pay for it.

    It's the same right wing hypocrisy in their pontification about "Family Values" while refusing to condemn their own adulterers like Mark Sanford and John Ensign, or their condemnation of homosexuality while closing their eyes to sexual predators like Mark Foley and Larry Craig. Over and over the Republican party demonstrates that one of their central philosophies is the claim of authority to set moral and ethical rules for others while reserving their own right to completely ignore those very same rules. There was significantly MORE warning that the 9/11 attacks were imminent, and at much higher levels of government, and while the investigation of Major Hasan is still in its early stages, it appears that the 9/11 attacks would have been "easier" to prevent. Here the indications are that someone along the line in the FBI or in Army Intelligence should have spotted warning signs and didn't. In August, 2001 the highest levels of our government, including the National Security Advisor herself, ignored overwhelming evidence.

    The other thing is that here, again in the preliminary stages, there seems no indication that anyone in the chain of command DELIBERATELY failed to act to intervene. That cannot be said about the 9/11 attacks.     (more)

    +9 raves I agree with you. The site has degenerated significantly. It has become a haven for anyone who ... I agree with you. The site has degenerated significantly. It has become a haven for anyone who hates this nation and hates the President and actively wishes for the nation to collapse. Conspiracy theories and outright lies fly with abandon, aided and abetted by numerous employees who seem to deliberately attempt to foment anger and intolerance. Any site is entitled to have it's own political point of view, but the site has veered so strongly to the right in recent months that it is no longer easy to find ANY civil debate.

    I don't know if there is a way to fix it. Objective news articles are posted and ignored, while extremist blogs like WorldNet, Newsmax, Faux and such are treated as "fact". Numerous objective polling is ignored in favor of deliberately skewed reports like Rasmussen. The information is out there but many choose not to think.

    Thank God these people are such a small portion of America.     (more)
