I'm a retired lawyer and active political junkie. Kitsune asked me what "progressive" is, so thought I'd put my definition here:
A progressive is: open minded, inclusive, compassionate, proactive and engaged in positive change, innovative, sustainable, optimistic, idealistic, for equality and justice, informed and conscious, evolving, and a leader challenging the status quo.
I think that about covers it!

I think every one of the 18% who disapprove of Obama's handling of the transition are posting here. I have seen leading members of Congress, in both parties, expressing support for some of Obama's initiatives, and recognizing that he really is reaching out and willing to listen to all points of view.
I don't expect Republicans to go along with everything, or even most things, he proposes; I expect them to act as the "loyal opposition." Most of us want the economy to improve, and most of us want good jobs with good pay; decent health care for our families; successful conclusions to the wars we are in and improved foreign relations with the rest of the world. We have different ideas about how to get there. A lively debate is a good way to think about all the alternatives, and try to pick what's best for our country. (more) -

I don't rearrange within top SodaHeads, they are for the most part in the order they were added, but I do move people in and out of my top SodaHeads depending on whether I want their recent activity to show up on my dashboard. I can't tell you how sad I am knowing "Bear" is no longer with us, he had so much heart, I will miss his energy, strength and kindness towards all his SH friends and his passion to speak out against injustices, but most of all I will miss his mere presence, may he be at peace now.

Along with the vast number of the Soda Head family, please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your brother. I added to his name and called him "buddy Bear" because he was such a good friend. I hadn't realized that he was so ill, I wondered where he was because I missed him.
I hope you will continue on this Blog because you add so much in your own right. My thoughts and prayers go with you at this difficult time.
