+8 raves The government doesn't have a say in who you love and they're sick if they think they do.... The government doesn't have a say in who you love and they're sick if they think they do. Homosexuality has been around a long time and the only reason they don't give their partners benefits is because the government is too mixed up in religion to govern fairly. If you choose a lifepartner and make that bond permanent (whether through legal marriage or not if you cant), then in my mind the government MUST recognize that if they have any chance at equality in the country.
I'm very proud of PBO for taking a look at this with an open mind. I understand he's got his Christian POV to have to deal with, but I also think that he is a very fair man and I hope he doesn't break under the strain of the fundamentalists in DC. (more) -

+11 raves I used to work for the pollsters. In fact, I used to give these kinds of surveys over the phone.... I used to work for the pollsters. In fact, I used to give these kinds of surveys over the phone. What you really need to ask is who is funding the survey? That is very very important because you could have a bunch of questions like: "Are you satisfied with the amount of stimulus $$ your family has recieved?" Which has to be answered no, since most people haven't gotten their check yet. And then these kinds of answers are turned around to say that those ppl aren't satisfied with the stimulus package and/or Obama himself.
As someone who has been in the poll trenches let me tell you something: polls don't tell you a damn thing, they're only there because someone is trying to find justification for themselves in an anonymous way. And who really cares if other people approve or not? Either YOU do or YOU dont.
Then there's the old adage of What's popular isn't always right and what's right isn't always popular. (more) -
