+5 raves I am sure I may be over my head in making this comment, but here goes... The unions in this Coun... I am sure I may be over my head in making this comment, but here goes... The unions in this Country have destroyed any hope of us keeping jobs in the USA. I live in an area of the Country where automobiles are our life blood. Having said that, this has been going on for years, that the unions protect their "own" from having to face any hardship pertaining to their jobs. I for one, who has worked in both union and non-union positions find this to be a bunch of BS. I say BS, as I have worked for a doctor, in the past, who continued to write GM workers off from working, because of substance abuse, mental illness(any criteria would apply), and "stress" from the job enviornment. Stress you say??? Get a life is what I would say. I would cringe at the number of folks who would come in for a 10 minute meeting with the doctor and walk out with a "note from the doctor" to be off work for 6 weeks! They had to come back and be reexamined by the doc, and most where written off for more time. My point is, that the unions are behind these lazy asses who claimed the "illnessess", their insurance covered it(why else whould my doctor "write them off"), and everyone turned a blind eye to the situation. There are known instances where folks are drinking and smoking pot while working on the line, making cars that we, the US citizen will buy. Tell me then, why are more folks buying foreign cars? I know why and that is why I own a Toyota Camry. (more)
