1 The argument that Obama refused to wear a flag pin is old. Barack Obama followed his statement about the flag pin: "I'm going to tell the American people what I believe would make this country great and hopefully that will be a testamony to my patriotism." Wearing a flag pin does not make one patriotic, it is simply a symbol. We all show our patriotism in different ways. Obama did eventually start wearing a flag pin. In fact, Obama wore a flag pin to all three debates. John McCain did not.
