Hating someone does not mean there wrong, and thinking so is a clearly defined logical fallacy. Hell, just because someone is wrong doesn't mean that there argument is wrong, it just means that you need to look deeper and more critically. There's also an equally, if not more dangerous, fallacious assumption. And that is that just because an argument is being made by someone you agree with, and just because you think the hypothesis is correct, doesn't mean that the supporting evidence is true, even in the slightest. A good example of this is finding someone who says, "Politician x is a terrible leader, because he hates America." It's all too easy to go, "Well I hate Politician X as a leader, so I'm going to agree." 9 times out of 10, that's total BS. Maybe they are a bad leader, but backing up that ad hominen attack just undermines your own cause. People don't want to admit that there are good arguments for wrong causes, and terrible arguments for good causes, because it makes things harder, and we naturally want black and white.

Also, I'm answering yes because i'm honest. It's good to see that peoples hearts are in the right pace, but you have to admit you have a problem before you can work towards fixing it. I try not to dismiss people I don't like, and think I do a good job of it. But anyone who says that they never commit this shortcoming is lying to themselves. We all have bias, and we all have to admit that before we can try to move beyond it.

"This clean coal thing is stupid. You can't clean up coal. There are certain impurities you can remove from the coal, but at its very basic, you have a reaction in coal, you release energy, you make CO2. That's what coal IS. That's what burning coal DOES. If you made less CO2, you would be burning less coal, because you get the energy through burning, and burning is just shorthand for turning coal into CO2"

Coal will never be clean in the same way that 1+1 will always be 2. If burning coal is clean, then you are quite simply NOT burning coal.

I play video games quite extensively, I consider myself a gamer with good working knowledge of the Psychology and Politics behind i,, and i know that the accusation of video games causing violence is complete BS. However, kids should not play GTA games, in the same way that they shouldn't listen to the most violent of gangsta rap, or watch the new Friday the 13th. For some reason, parents get up in arms about video game violence, and yet somehow, there kids still manage to find $300 for a system, $60 for a game, get the whole business set up with internet and everything, and then find the time to play it without the parents noticing. Somehow, I think that the parent have a hand in helping there kids play these games, and aren't exactly innocent victims of an evil media industry. Yeah, make it illegal for kids to buy MA titles. It will do very little in terms of preventing kids from playing violent games, but parents will have to stop whining, and actually use parenting when they realize that the problem lies in the fact that they don't draw the connecting between there kids playing an inappropriate game, and them buying a box in the store for there child with big letters that say, "Diablo" on it, with a picture of Satan covered in blood on the front. Parents, its really not that hard. I realize that the technology is big and scary and boring for you, but pay attention to what your kid is doing of 5 bloody minutes and your not going to have a problem. (more)
