About Me

A friendly Christian family man who is an unabashed conservative American and loves to make people think and laugh. Married to Lori for 24 years (she deserves a medal for this!). I have three sons and an English springer spaniel who smiles and goes bonkers for dog cookies.

Ann Coulter - she is simply hilarious! Rush Limbaugh - he is a self-made man who fashions his opinions based on core American principles. Mark Levin - a solid common sense conservative.

Active in local politics; blogging on Sodahead; playing Texas Hold 'em online (no money); reading.

Politics, reading, computers, writing and funny stories.

I am a classic rocker and usually listen to www.accuradio.com where I can listen to a hundred stations without commercials on my computer.

24, Grey's Anatomy, All In the Family re-runs.

Schindler's List, Shawshank Redemption, Winds of War, War & Remembrance, Driving Miss Daisy, Caddy Shack and movies with Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Nick Nolte or Harrison Ford.

Liberty & Tyranny, See I Told You So, Guilty, Do As I Say, and a zillion other poliitically themed conservative books.

Experience is not the best teacher. Other people's experience is best because they have saved you a lot of failures.

"Opportunity is never lost. If you let one go by, there will always be someone else who will take advantage of it."

"There are two things in nature which are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, but I'm not so sure about the first one." A. Einstein

Here are some of my own quotations:

"One aspect of being highly intelligent is knowing when to dummy up."

"I don't particularly care too much for those who go strictly by the book. The book was created for those who do not know how to think."

"Every morning when I look in the mirror to shave, it reminds me that God has a very keen sense of humor."

"If we are all judged by the way we look, then I am in BIG trouble!"

"If you see someone escape the consequences of their stupidity, just chalk it up to one more instance of God smiling on the brainless."

"A kindness is never wasted even if it was bestowed upon someone who didn't deserve it. I believe God always repays in kind for your deeds towards others."

"There is a world of difference between cheap and inexpensive."

"Knowledge and wisdom are not the same thing. I have known some very educated people whom I know sit on the edge of their beds in the morning wondering which sock goes on what foot."

"It's a crying shame that stupidity isn't an Olympic event."

"There is never a shortage of idiots, is there?"

My uncles Bill and Lou; Ronald Reagan; all members of America's Armed Forces, their families and veterans. My son, Derek, is America's best Airman in the USAF!

    "I think Democrats and Republicans alike will be held accountable by their constituents who want to see health care reform enacted this year.”

    All I can say is I certainly hope he is right! There are a LOT of Democrats who will be held accountable by the voters for supporting socialized medicine, lying about the bill's content, blindly supporting Obama, raising taxes and exploding the national debt.
    . bills content blindly supporting obama raising taxes exploding national debt

This is still another states' rights issues about to be trampled on by Washington Leftists. Since when does a U.N. treaty have anything to do with us anyway? To hell with the U.N.! My God, I can hardly wait until Election Day, 2010! (more)

The DEMs were smart enough to create a dependency class who are firmly attached to the Democrat nipple. This group supports Democrats in the 90%+ range as they won't bite the hand that feeds them. Can you now see why the DEMs want to create a dependency to government for healthcare? It's not about healthcare or welfare - it's about CONTROL. (more)

The "War On Poverty" under the Johnson Administration created a dependency class for blacks and whites. If you depended on me for your most basic needs to survive every day, you will do whatever I tell you to do which includes voting for me and all my friends. You will not bite the hand that feeds you. It only costs you your dignity and saps any desire to become a productive member of society. Besides, you are owed an existence because the rich have stolen your money from you, right?

    Someday I hope this entitlement mentality is driven from our country. Until then, we can expect a growing under-class bent on taking whatever they can get from the producers in society.

  • +3 raves I would say Kennedy would have a good case if there was no mechanism in place for his replacement... I would say Kennedy would have a good case if there was no mechanism in place for his replacement on the books, but there is. According to the news story, Massachusettes leaders are taking a proper hands-off approach and will allow the law work which calls for a special election. Let the people decide who his replacement is and let the chips fall where they may.

    Although I never wish any ill will on anyone, I wonder what kinds of treatments Kennedy would receive under his socialized medicine for brain cancer considering his age? Would he have been counselled to end his life and handed pain pills instead of the life-extending care he has been given? I suppose it's easier to push for legislation which will directly affect the lives of so many people that you will never have to use.

    A footnote here: I lost a friend and my father-in-law to brain cancer. I feel bad for the Kennedy family as the disease is no day at the beach.

    1. It would effectively kill the healthcare bill which the American public has clearly said they do not want;
    2. It would show voters that the Republicans are a gutsy team that can stick together when principle is at stake;
    3. The federal government can't screw us as much with the Senate shut down;
    4. It would keep Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, Frank and others from passing their ruinous, socialist agenda.
    5. A lot of paper-pushers, do-nothings and "czars" will be out of work. Essential services will run, but the rest of the crap won't. It sounds great, doesn't it?

    This would be probably dubbed as the "Showdown at Georgetown" and the Republicans better not blink. Stand up to the tyranny and be a voice of the people!

    I see that 32% strongly approve of Obama. Hmm. I wonder who those people are?

    ***People who only look at a person's physical attributes rather than qualifications, accomplishments or experience.
    ***No one who was in a coma during the survey said anything bad about Obama.
    ***Socialists/Marxists strongly approve, no doubt.
    ***Taliban, al Qaida, Hamas and party-line Democrats love him.
    ***The tinfoil hat crowd thinks he's the Second Coming.
    ***Illegal aliens think he's muy bien.
    ***All residents at "Happy Acres" nuthouse think he's the ideal president.
    ***Proctologists have never seen a finer example than Obama.

    I am sure there are more people than these that like Obama, but due to time constraints, I have to cut the list short, but you get the idea.
