They just don't want to call it, "marriage." If people are going to live together, they need the same legal protections and privaliges and priviages that everyone else enjoys. It's not like people are going to start being gay, just because it's legally recognized! I think the only people that really fear homosexuality are those that lean toward it. In those cases, no piece of legislation is going to help them. Why would any straight person care about what gays do? (more)

In the last century, no Democratic candidate for President has been able to accept the nomination without accepting a plank on gun control. Having done this, Obama is obliged to recommend legislation to Congress advocating such regulation. How serious he is remains to be seen.

What is interesting is Gov. Patterson's choice of Gillibrand to replace Clinton in the Senate. This is a signal of just how low gun control is on the list of Democratic Party priorities. Gillibrand's distaste for this kind of legislation stands in stark contrast to anything we've seen out of NY in recent years. Her appointment could not have come to pass without the blessing of party elders. In 2010, Gillibrand will face a grief-stricken widow in the Democratic Party Primary. This will be the test of gun control position of the entire Democratic Party for many years to come.

Democrats can blame this issue, virtually by itself, for the election of George W. Bush. Despite all the anti-Gore press in 2000, Gore could have easily defeated Bush had it not been for all the one issue voters in Tennesee and other states. Even Democrats that hate firearms beyond reason cannot justify gun control when it means the Republicans can win elections, while fielding the very worst candidates that party has to offer. Most Democrats believe that the Bush Administration was traitorous and criminal From there, it is not difficult to argue that being on the wrong side of the issue that put him in office is just as traitorous and criminal.

There is no such thing as "Clean Coal." Coal has uses for which there is no substitute, but it does significant damage to the enviroment. Not only does it produce huge quantities of CO2 compared to other fossil fuels, but the extraction of the resource ruins the landscape. We generate our electric power from coal in my area. This means that a locally charged electric vehicle would produce more CO2 than a comparable gasoline powered vehicle. (more)

1.) A person can be naturally attracted to both sexes

2.) Victems of abuse may be confused after surviving their ordeal.

3.) In an enviroment were there is little contact with the opposet sex, some people will engage in homosexual activity for the duration.

4.) Then there is just wierd stuff, like a heterosexual transvestite may go so far in playing the role of the opposet sex, that he/she will engage in homosexual activity.

5.) Of course, you are right, that there are a lot of homosexuals that don't want to admit that fact to themselves, so they force themselves to seek out the opposet sex. This is probably increadably common, but exagerated by small minded people. Homosexuals like to imagine a larger group of people just like them, only lacking the courage to come out. Other folks, simply like to lump all "devients" into the same pile. Personally, I do not judge; I have enough of my own problems without sticking my nose in other people's buisness.

With every incontinental decision, there was a delayed reaction. England had actually met our demands before we declared war, but because of the slow communication, we didn't know. Perhaps people are too spoiled with modern concepts to understand history. (more)
