About Me

I have 4 children, aged from 20-42. ,6 grandchildren, aged 21-6 ,1 great grandchild,3mo.s and 2 great granddaughters . My wife and I have been married 43 years. I`m 64 and she is 62. And yes, she`s my sweety , chicky-poo , and always my babe !!

I'd like to meet

Lenard Piekoff , I guess mostly it`s whom I would have liked to have met. For instance, Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry, Ben Franklin, Daniel, James Bowie, David Crocket, Alex Shlzinetzin,and Ayn Rand. I know my spelling isn`t the greatest, but I would include Solomon, and Jesus most of all.

Activities

Of course I must list reading. When I read, I am totally imersed . If a western, I can hear the horses` running. I can `see` the tall pines and smell them. I love to fish, hunt ,hike and go camping. Weather or season is not a factor for camping and hiking.

Interests

Life is a learning experience. I can read anything and find it interesting. I love to visit other countries and meet other people. Even if I can only go there by reading.

Favorite Music

I do not like rap. It is bad music with worse lyrics. Most any thing else is OK. My favorite songs are Mary did you know and Unchained Melody. I`m quite fond of Pink Floyd ,The Iron Butterfly

Favorite TV Shows

I get a kick out of The Cape , and V. Buts thats all I watch on TV.

The Time Machine , The Lord of The Rings .

Favorite Books

Watch For Me On The Mountain , The Outlaw Joesy Whales , both by Forest Carter also his other one The Education of Littletree. Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee,by Dee Brown. Actually far more than there is room to list.

It's refreshing to see not only you, but others on that Santa question who feel as I do. I don't believe we should abolish Santa from Christmas, we should keep him around as a nice little legend that grew out of the story of the historical ST. Nicholas. I just think we shouldn't be lying to our kids, setting them up for unnecessary disappointment, confusion, resentment, embarrassment etc. And really, when in Christianity, we're told we shouldn't tell lies, how does that square with what people are telling little kids at Christmas, a celebration of Jesus's birth, I ight add?

I'm the only one in my whole family who is against telling kids Santa is real. Had a big row over it when I was in my teens, years after I stopped believing, but I still had to deal with them telling younger family members who came along. I still refuse to actively play along. they probably think Im okay with it since I've been given the message in no uncertain terms to shut up and "not spoil their Christmas" *Rolling eyes* but... I'm still not playing.
