This is an owned and operated for the most part anyway Conservative website. I have been here actually over 2 years, I left because of the unfairness to Liberals when I first came and then returned when I had several friends talk me back into it.

First of all, this site is for EVERYONE and if it is NOT then the OWNERS need to speak up and tell us to leave, and I think they do that quite well with their deactivations, I can and KNOW many more Liberals who have been deleted from this site than Conservatives that have, all you have to do is check my friends list and about half are now GONE by deactivation or CHOICE also. There is another website that has over 100 ACTUAL PEOPLE-NOT puppets who have left or rarely come here anymore and won't until things change-which they say is never because they feel it is the RWNJ's that have ruined this site.

Now, YOU made the accusations, PROVE to ALL of SH that they are biased towards Liberals and that YOU NEED to "take back this site". (have you even done a head count on how many Libs vs. Cons have left SH before you posted this?)-The Libs missing far outweigh the Cons FYI!

The other reason this sickens me is these people "Made" their compensations on the hard work of OTHERS for meeting quota's, etc, and not because they busted their own asses-that is NOT the self serving example of the American "way" I want portrayed in this world.

I don't know what all the facts are with this story and I sure hope these parents did not USE the child for some scheme they concocted to get attention. We as parents are the most influential moral, emotional and ethical teachers for our children of this age and it saddens me to think anyone could do such a thing for publicity and or possible monetary gain.

    Have a great weekend Starr!

As an American, of Ojibwe, Winnebago and Norwegian descent, I appreciate you posting this on this day. I find it sad that America's children are not taught the whole truth of our history in this Country, ignorance is no excuse for racism, false pride or hatred, yet we perpetuate it from generation to generation for fear that the actual facts will cause just what the omissions do.

We are doomed to repeat the past if we do not learn from it, so in today's society we omit the facts of America's past to not "traumatize" our children, yet we allow them to play war games and Grand Theft Auto type games that glorify crime and killing-and we wonder why this country is full of sociopaths and WHY we are in the shape we are today!

"Franklin urged his fellow delegates to be willing to sacrifice, not their principles, but their overwhelming urge to be right. Perhaps he would offer the same advice today to his fellow citizens."

Today's fellow citizens, from ALL political parties should practice this advice, and no time than NOW is it of utmost importance.

Thanks Starr for sharing this, it has allowed me to think twice and remember the importance of compromise which I sometimes forget in my frustrations.

I have been watching the 3 major news networks the past couple days and I'm sorry but what I hear between all the double speak, made up brainwashing (nobody knows exactly what he's gonna say-and they will release the transcript on Monday-the day BEFORE he speaks), and I NEVER heard ANY Party kick and scream when it was George Bush our POTUS in 1991 make a speech to our school children.

I'm becoming more and more convinced or maybe just coming out of my denial that this is much more about the "big scary black man" than anything else-what a shame to see this Great Country still in the dark ages, or wanting to retreat to it!

The letter by (scroll down to 2nd letter) Tim Wise in this link is one that is most eye opening and elementary for anyone in this Country to understand when it comes to some of our forefathers and may help some understand even better what racism existed and still exists in this society.

Thankfully, what goes around comes around, and the American Indians are buying back their land in record numbers and acres and so far have been able to stop all legal procedings trying to prevent them from doing so.

My how the greed of some who love to gamble never realized what in actuality this would do for the American Indians, until it was too late-lol! I also find it ironic that the American Indians are so shrewd with their money, so many casino's are built with money loaned from one tribe to another, so the money stays within the tribes, definitely not what the banking community wanted! But the Government gets their fair share, and then some.
Edited to say I am researching more about the Amazon Indians and others this is happening with. This is all the more reason we need to change our dependence on oil asap.

I met the most wonderful man in the World on August 10, 1979 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, we both walked into the cafeteria, I was a patient (car accident) and he was visiting, and I sat down to eat a cafeteria meal-little did I know the food was the same as I was getting delivered to my room, and he came over and we had dinner together.

We became fast friends, fell madly in love and we finally got married on August 14th 1982. We had a wonderful life together, and although I don't believe in coincidences, he passed away suddenly in my arms on August 10th, 2005 of sudden cardiac arrest. (He was never sick a day in his life that we knew of-yet autopsy said he had 2 forms of heart disease)

Hugs Sister Jean and thank you for letting me walk down memory lane tonite!
