About Me

I'm a Management Assistant, living in Belgium. I like reading, writing, listening to music, watching TV, walking... It took me a while but I'm definitely coming out of my shell. I'm glad Tabby mentioned this website to me because it's really interesting. I'm not very good at all that internet stuff but it's amazing how much I've already discovered and learned. I'm catching up. Dutch is my native language so it's a real treat to read and write in English (my favorite foreign language).

I'm doing fine and I've been busy too (preparing to move office, Vancouver, studying,....).

Your hard work is being appreciated.
I've just taken a look at 'photobucket'. I searched for Allison Mack as a test. :-) Lots of pictures. It's great.
And the 'Coming Out' website is remarkable. Do you realize, you're an amazing writer?

You deserve some pampering and time off after working so hard. :-)

    Take care.

Venturing out into the unknown, meeting people, learning and seeing new things...is what makes life even more interesting and worth living. It would be boring without challenges. (more)

When I read your comment I thought of Allison’s first quote ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. I wish people would be more positive, open-minded, polite and nice. The world would be a better place if people would make the effort of living with compassion, understanding, joy, love and respect. Our world needs more generosity and empathy. Endeavor to create a better world and a better future, will not only make us better people, but make us feel better, too. I believe the power of human spirit can be amazing. I can’t control the world or force a positive attitude upon others but I can start by trying to be a good person myself. A warm-hearted and optimistic attitude can be infectious. I work on opening myself up, I’m more self-aware, I think a lot about the way I am and the ways I interact with others. I want to be a source of friendship, support and comfort to people I care about and to others. It really doesn’t take a lot to care, to smile, to be polite, to listen to someone else’s problem or opinion, to stand up for oneself without raising one’s voice, to ask a friend or a colleague how she/he is doing, etc….even if it’s in vain. It isn’t always easy. I too have bad days and sometimes I do feel discouraged, angry or sad because of something that has happened in the world or because of other people’s attitude or actions. But I have no tolerance for hatred, murder, rape, child abuse...that is simply evil. I have been told to be sometimes too soft, too naïve and too good-hearted. It’s my weakness but it has also been proven to be my strength. I’ve been hurt so I’ve become more careful. Nevertheless, I want to continue to live with a loving heart and an open mind. ‘Service is the rent we pay for living’ (Marian Wright Edelman) That’s a nice quote. (more)
