Love the song! Also, his dreads don't look half bad.

I hadn't heard of him previously, but now he's definitely on my radar screen.

Thanks, you're not the first one to tell me those are must-watch,. I've been told you really don't need to have seen the first to enjoy the second? Still I'd like to watch in order if possible.

    Great vid!

I did a little study after listening to it, and it does seem quite certain that the Greek myth portrays Andromeda as black or very dark-skinned. I did learn in the course of it, too, that it was likely not Ethiopia proper (the country/region now or recently-historically designated as Ethiopia exactly) that was being spoken of as her father Cephus'/Cetus' kingdom, but rather the greater, more ancient kingdom of the 'burnt face' race; i.e., black Africans (which amounts to exactly the same, except it's clearly also additional evidence of a flourishing African kingdom very early on in history).

As to whether it's racist for two white women to have portrayed her in the 80s and more recent versions of 'Clash'... you know... I mean... I don't know. But then again, my first thought went directly to this controversy going on now surrounding Idris Elba's proposed portrayal of James Bond (which I personally don't care if he plays; that would be cool and unique and I'd definitely check it out because of all the whining about it and to watch people's head's explode over it and all, but don't care either way)... it struck me that, being that both the Greek myth and the Bond saga are literary creations (i.e. not literal history), white people have suddenly become extremely technica...

"Oh, that Greek myth movie featuring a white woman in a black woman's role... heck, that was just some normal artistic license."

"Idris Elba can't play Bond... that's a WHITE role!!!"

(This seems to be the mentality.)

I realize, though, that what really compounds the perceived racism here is the fact that this Andromeda was basically the equivalent of an Aphrodite, a Venus, a Helen of Troy, a Cinderella... that is to say, Andromeda being portrayed as 'the fairest of them all' so to speak, of the ancient world. By contrast, our James Bond is hardly an Adonis. He's a reasonably good-looking Johnny-come-lately chap who's got a little extra suaveness under his belt, at best. ;)
