About Me
I'm sensitive, stubborn, and have a wonderful temper--it's a keeper; I don't want to ever lose it. I live in a duplex that I own; one son lives in the other half with one child. I have an adorable cat who is all the constant company I can handle. I am on social security but also work part time. I'm not very social, but have just a few very close friends.
I love to read, garden both indoors and out, hike the trails and mountains around my home, go boating, do jig-saw puzzles, and cuddle my kitty while watching a movie on my tiny computer screen.
i like a lot of different kinds of music from folk to rock, but my favorite music is classical.
No TV
Dr Zhivago, Lord of the Rings, Terminator movies, Out of Africa
there are others; I'll think of more later
there are others; I'll think of more later
Stephen Donaldson's six "Thomas Covenant Chronicals", and his Gap series of five books;
JRR Tolkien's four "Lord of the Rings" books (includes "The Hobbit");
Ayn Rand's, "We the Living";
Noah Gordon's, "The Physician";
James Michener's, "TheCovenant", "The Source" and "Hawaii"; Colleen Mc Cullough's, "The Thorn Birds";
Walter Miller's, "A Canticle for Leibowitz";
Robert Silverberg's, "Majipoor Chronicles";
Ursula Leguin's, "The Left Hand of Darkness";
Sebastian Faulks', "Birdsong";
Melba Beals', "Warriors Don't Cry" (which was WAY better than Maya Angelou's memoir about segregation in the South)
Andrea Barrett's "Ship Fever" and "Servents of the Map"
Absolutely everything by PG Wodehouse, but particularly his "Jeeves" stories
Ernest Hemingway's, "A Farewell to Arms", "For whom the Bell Tolls", and "The Sun Also Rises";
Tony Morrison's, "Tar Baby" and "Beloved"
Chaim Potok's, "The Promise"
Jostein Gaarder's, "Sophie's World"
Tom Clancy's, "The Hunt for Red October"
Amy Tan's, "The Joy Luck Club"
Leon Uris', "Exodus", "The Haj", and "QB VII"
Frank Herbert's six "Dune" books and his stories written with Bill Ransom about a water world, "The Jesus Incident", "The Lazarus Effect" and "The Ascension Factor"
Geoffrey Moorhouse's, "The Fearful Void"
Countless Science Fiction stories, my favorites of those are listed.
These are some that I have read for fun and would reccommend. The rest of my favorite books are archaeology/anthropology books that might not be of interest to most people, expose' type current event books that would probably offend half the people, and adventure books, the only one of which I reccommend to anyone being "The Fearful Void."

I'm still around; just not too often as I share the computer with another person who doesn't have internet. He showed me how to send the video (link) to my friends, so I'm good on that request.
The last two days here have been nice and warm--actually warmer than it got all last summer. We did not have summer for the last two years--very cold--my garden really fizzled. Anyway, I have my vegetable and herb garden planted and fingers crossed that we don't have a hard frost. I bring the herbs in at night. Next weekend I'll get some flowers started--I buy starter plants of flowers as seed take too long.
My maple tree has aphids again, but I caught it early enough and should have that battle won by next weekend. I got an aphid killing recipe from a Jerry Baker plant book. You mix Murphy's Oil Soap, garlic juice, and rubbing alcohol into water and spray the aphids for several days. I got a nice pump sprayer from True Value so I can reach the upper branches--about 8-10 feet up. Works like a charm. Stinks really bad. Hope your spring is going ok, too.
Do you garden?
Sheila

I have watched The Obama Deception. Great film!! There is another that I found by googling it. It's called America-From Freedom to Faschism. Also a great film, you ought to check it out!!

I added you cause I thought you were a cool SH! And yes, the wolfy is a real wolf. I got to visit a wolf sanctuary where I met a bunch of them. Your cat is beautiful as well.
