  OK a lot of that makes sense, but I'm not sure what you're saying about taxes. A 60% federal tax and a 40% state tax doesn't leave a whole lot for us to live on.
  Also, Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution states the the president is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. Obviously, we need to be a little more selective of who we put into that position, but as far as having power over the military, it is what it is.
