You must be very gifted if you can play by ear at relatively very young age, too bad you lost interest, you did not touch the piano at all?
I used to live in New York, we subcribed to The Metropolitan opera, Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. I moved to Houston Texas 3 years ago , Houston opera is quite good, there are singers from the Met, and concert halls have world renown concert artists, ofcourse it can't be compared with New York.
