About Me

I am a Combat Medic in the US Army. That's the #1 place in my identity, I love what I do, and am very proud of what I have done, yet at the same time there are aspects of my job I wouldn't wish on anyone. I am a career Soldier, and find the civilian world fractious, dirty, and unorganized, but I imagine it's supposed to be that way. Politically, I'm what you might call a militant-middle of the road-Libertarian, with NO political loyalties to any established party or ideology. I'm liberal on some things, conservative on others, and think through each issue on a case-by-case basis. I DO NOT tow any "party line". Religion....No thanks. I view religion like genitalia, it's not to be waved around in public, or shoved down anyone elses throat, ESPECIALLY children! In other words: "Keep it in your pants!"...and don't assume yours is any better than the next guy's or that yours sets the moral standard for all others to follow because no matter which you subscribe to-you're wrong....Got it? Good. Remember that, and we'll get along just fine regardless of what you believe.

Interests

SOLDIERING: I am always looking to increase my profesional development in both the technical and tactical areas. I do this by educating myself in as many areas that pertain to my career as possible, including strategic thinking, and world politics.
READING and WRITING: I love the English language, dispite my horrid spelling, and enjoy good solid discourse.
THE OPPOSITE SEX: Yes, I'm married, but my wife allows me some harmless flirting online as I remember to "keep it above the waist" most of the time, and being as that I am a hopeless romantic, and a flaming heterosexual, and a strict vagitarian, ladies...you have my attention.
SHOOTING: I like to "make bang-bang"...What can I say? I hold a concealed carry permit for the state of N.C. and enjoy the company of other responsible, law abiding shooters. I am currently the highest scoring shooter in my whole Battalion.
CAT FISHING: Short on hysterics, but long on anger, I love locking horns with a big lunker Cat. However I have a soft spot for animals so I catch and release all except the biggest. My wife has pictures of me kissing various cat fish just before I threw them back in. (I'm kinda wierd like that.)
JEEPING: Tear-assing down the road less traveled (or not traveled) or creating my own road is just good, clean muddy fun! Plus if you enjoy having sex in a motor vehicle now and then, it helps to have one that you can remove the top (more room that way), and get it out into more "private" terrain.

Favorite Music

The past 60 years have given us some great music, and I like a bit of all of it, even some of the stuff nobody would think a 40yo white guy would like.
But, if I had to be nailed down to one genera it would be Rock. My favorite band is Pink Floyd, and favorite song is "Learning to Fly" off of their "Delicate Sound of Thunder" album.

Favorite TV Shows

I live on the Hitler/History Channel (all Nazis, all the time!), the military Channel, the Learning Channel, Nat Geo, the Discovery Channel, the Cartoon Network (hey, it can't be all educational!), Nicktoons, the Disney Channel (Phinias & Ferb!). Basicly, things that teach me something, or make me laugh.

Favorite Movies

JAWS tops the list. Nothing before or since has so frightened me.
Otherwise, I'm all over the road here.

My tastes range from the historical, to the mundane, to the downright perverse.
