About Me

I'm a small town Southern Guy trying to make it in a big open Liberal City (I smell sitcom). No... not really. However, the unparenthesis-ed portion is rather true and I think I just bastardized the English Language with that word. Interesting. My name is Ron... and I live in Frisco, CA. I dislike the people not the place... although the weather foes leave little to be desired. Anyhow, I work out here. It is an alright job... my true desire is to write and as it just so happens am currnetly working on a project of my own unique creation right now. Which brings us to the reason for joining Soda Head. I figure this website would be great to post samples of my work and get a resonse back. Hopefully a positive one... but I am really looking for constuctive critism... what doesn't work and why. Other than that... I am a big an of great storytelling in various genres (yes... I do realize I am referring to myself as a couch potato in a sophisticated yet undetectable manner). I enjoy compelling stories about a strugging protagonist who may win the day or the fight, but sacrifices a need or a want in return. Smallville has always been a great example of this. Good show... which leads me into my next fav thing COMICS! Yes sir. I said it. I am a big fan of DC and Marvel. I like how all these things are connected... my writing, TV, Movies, Comics, etc. Damn, just had an epiphany this may be why I am still single, hmmm... I better look into that. Well, that is all for now about me. Thank you for rading and I hope you enjoy.

Nice... I knew there was going to be a section for half of what I worte about int he about me block. Ha! I think I will do a laundry list of 10 which also may give you a little inkling into my personaility:

Well, I am going to go with Clint Barton, only because he has an underlying nature about him that I think would cause him to kill. I think Ol' Ollie could be pushed to kill too, but his Liberal Hippie Douche Bag Ways would prevent him from the hitting the cycle first which I think would be the key to this battle.

Then there is Ultimate Hawkeye, who would kill first and ask questions later after athat whole Black WIdow betrayel.

I can relate better to Spider-Man, Wolverine, Punisher, Iron Man, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and numerous others over any of the DC characters. With Marvel the reader has a better variety to choose from and can really get into what the characters are feeling. I don't get the same satisfaction reading DC. I still pick-up DC titles hoping to get a story that I just fall into, but it is only once in a very blue moon that this happens. The best story DC Comics has produced in the last Ten Years is Identity Crisis. I mean seriously. I remember when Civil War came out. I made it my life mission to buy every single Comic that had anything to do with Civil War. My buddy that lives in Texas, every wednesday we would go to the Comic Book store and buy, read and then spend an hour and a half on the phone discussing everything that transpired gitty like a couple of school girls. He is 28 and I am 25... there is no diginity in being referred to as a school girl, but my point is made. Marvel is fan boy heaven with there rich text, intricate stories, and the fact that they maintained the outcome from a universe crossover. Not to mention... that they have a really great way of throwing the reader off. I mean come on, a show of hands. Who thought Cap was going to lose? I didn't... but he did. After House of M, who thought that the mutants were all going to get there powers back? I know I did? Yet, still the majority are powerless. Did anyone read the Uncanny X-Men story delaing with Vulcan? I did... awesome. Wolverine was just placed the number one Comic book character in the Wizard 200 issue. In conclusion, DC is outmatched and out classed when it comes to the boys over at Marvel. If anyone works for Marvel and they read this keep up the good work. (more)

I am going to ive a rant here on Green Lantern's ring...

So, Green Lantern's Ring can form anything you can possibly imagine. I mean Knives, swords, guns, a cage that you could reduce and cut off the flow of air anything right. So, tell me please, why does it have a "G" rating in an "R" Rated Universe. Seriously. Oh no, that bad guys are going to hurt that person quick, I must stop him. I know a Spatula will do the trick. With a quick flip of the wrist another caper now flipped. I mean seriously. A Spatula, that is the best you can come up with. Then of course my personal favorite (sarcasm at its finest) a Baseball Glove to catch the Bad Guys. Green Lantern should be ashamed of himself. Seriously, the only thing more crappier than this pile is the... wait for it.... wait for it.... wait for it....

WONDER TWINS POWER ACTIVATE FORM of a BUCKET OF WATER?!

This is exactly why DC has been trailing in Marvel's wake since the 60's.

    BOOSH!

  • +4 raves I am going to go with Frank on this one. Perez and Bryne are really good too.

Grodd is a Super Genius and so is Beast go that kind of Cancells each other out. Then you have to take into account Strength and Grodd has Beast beat out on that. Then there is agility... which Beast has on Grodd. So, I give the fight to Grodd in the sense that one or two well placed punches and Beast is down for the count. (more)
