About Me

I'm a married mom of 2 young kids. It's weird to identify myself that way since I'm 39 and spent most of my life as a business woman, organizer of friend events, perpetual dater, traveler, runner, mountain climber (well a little bit, but I loved it.) I lived in Chicago, Denver, Dallas and England and have seen many other cities and countries. So now I am a stay at home mom and learning things I never really knew. Like how truly irrational a two year old can be... I read once that dealing with a two-year-old is like working for a cranky, hormonal, half-drunk boss. I often laugh at the accuracy of that comparison. I also have learned the amazing gift of unconditional love. I have never loved deeper or more honestly than I do with my children. And it is such a reward to have their love in return.

I believe strongly in the ability of people to move mountains when they are held accountable for their own lives and their own actions. I dream of a country where my children can be safe. Where they can ride their bikes out of my site and be out playing until the street lights come on like I did when I was a kid. Where I don't feel the need to give them a cell phone or wish I could microchip them in case they are taken from me. I wish for a country where we value lives and respect the happiness of others even if we're miserable ourselves... and I wish for leaders who have conviction to punish those who violate those values. I dream of a place where my children have opportunity and the incentive to be successful. Where their successes are applauded and not squelched by others who are crying for their share of a pie they never helped bake. I wish for my children to be generous and have a strong desire to help the less fortunate, but I mostly wish for them to have the wisdom and the freedom to decide who those people are.

Running, playing with my kids, organizing events, reading, spending time with family, letting everyone know my opinion on every topic, dreaming up new business ventures

I have pledged to try to be a "conformist" and give the man an honest chance... and I will after I'm done being bitter. But not because Bush can be respectful to Obama (despite Obama using him for negative imagery against McCain.)

Interesting article though... makes me think of another question. If Obama can be respectful towards Bush, why can't you? (This is for all the vocal Bush haters who blame the weeds in their garden on him.)

It's like any type of marketing -- campaign marketing is no different than consumer marketing. We all think we're smarter than the marketeer and yet if you listen closely you'll hear a faint, sinister chuckle as you turn your back.

I am all for spending caps! (I was before Obama acquired enough money to buy the job.) And I don't think anyone from the media should take any money from a candidate nor should they make any profits from the election -- there should be very strict regulations.

I was so disgusted when I was in DC seeing the "I Hate Bush" rally. It's disgusting and it weakens us as a nation. (more)
