The original Night of the Living Dead is still the single scariest flick ever made! When done right black and white horror is so much more capable of creating that butterflies in the stomach sense of dread than any color film, the use of shadows can't be equaled by color :) (more)

The sad reality is - as I replied in another poll about the effectiveness of torture - torture is not only cruel it is absolutely pointless. At some point EVERYONE breaks - and by that I don't mean that they tell what they know so much as EVERYONE eventually will tell you what you WANT them to tell you. You can never know that information gathered through torture is accurate or trustworthy information. Never. Use truth drugs all you like - the result is still the same, truth drugs do NOT work on everyone - just as lie detectors do not always catch everyone in a lie - so the end result remains the same. A person who has been beaten, ravaged, and put through unthinkable sufferings will eventually admit to anything just to make it stop.

Then there is the other side of the coin: At what point do we decide to NOT be the better nation? At what point do we choose to just throw everything this nation has always stood for out the window? And in so doing, do we not become just as bad as those we ourselves revile?

I've not personally seen one - not that I've looked for one either - but I would have to say the very concept is immature. Very childish. But then, anytime you have a community like sodahead, myspace, etc - you're going to have people like this too. It's unavoidable. We'd all like to believe that our peers are as mature as we are, but sadly it's just not generally the case. Luckily, the immature people that resort to such extremes ARE most certainly a minority in their own right. They make up a very small percentage of the whole.

My best advice? Ignore them. Leave them be. If they must be childish then oh well, why should that bother you? Even if you're on a "hit" list - what does that really do? All it should do is give you a compliment - someone is most likely simply jealous that you have so many friends here where they have so few.

  • +4 raves No. If it were that simple then there would be no divorces. There would be no broken hearts. Ther... No. If it were that simple then there would be no divorces. There would be no broken hearts. There would be no loneliness in the world. Sadly, as much as we like to believe we can "make" love happen - the reality is you cannot. Love comes from time and patience - getting to know someone, inside as well as out. It's a slow learning process - it's a growing process that continually changes. What you CAN make is it's longevity. Actively working to nurse and grow that love can bring great results - neglecting it and taking it for granted can destroy it faster than anything else. So once you've managed to gain love, yes you work to keep it functioning, you work to maintain it - or you can lose it. But you cannot make love itself exist out of nothingness to begin with - it's just not possible. (more)
