"Eyeh-Asher-Eyeh" has been translated in most Christian Bibles as either "I Am That I Am," or "I Am Who I Am." A more accurate translation is either "I Will Be What I WIll Be" or "I Will Be That Which I Will Be." If you read the book "God According To God" by Gerald Schroeder you will find a whole new outlook on the nature of God. Schroeder is an MIT physicist with two PhDs, and he is also an expert on the Old Testament and Biblical Hebrew. Schroeder believes the name means that God said He would be changing, that He would develope as His relationship with mankind developed.
I don't know if you have heard of Huston Smith, but he has written numerous books on Christianity, and he believes "God According To God" is one of the most significant books ever written on the subject.
