I am democrat, voting republican, because Obama, sacrificed his moral platform, and accused someone who clearly wasn't a racist, of harboring racist views, just to gain advantage in the democratic nomination, regardless of the consequences upon race relations. His campaign fed into racist beliefs held by SOME blacks about white people, and created suspicion where it wasn't warranted, promoting an atmosphere where they can't even trust white people who work to support black rights and causes.

I am voting Republican, because Obama demonstrated, while in the State Senate, that he doesn't take a job seriously, by "accidentally voting wrong at least 6 times" and requesting his vote be changed, while "Morning Joe", while in Congress, much much longer than Obama, didn't do that once, and doesn't believe Obama, but instead believed Obama was using it as an excuse to change his vote once he saw how the vote was going. How will that approach work as a President?

I am voting Republican, because Obama is running for President, like a Lawyer forming a closing argument, twisting, and portraying things in a way that makes it appear as though he is what he wants you to believe he is, despite facts-- reminds me of a famous trial where a lawyer got 12 jurors to question the reliability of DNA.

Lastly, Obama, while in the Illinois State Senate, was tested, he choose an issue to make his. Protecting the public from Nuclear Waste leaks into ground water...promising, to make the big, corporation (i.e. the nuclear power plant, Excelon), report any leaks...so the public could be aware, and decide when to test their wells, when to stop drinking the water if an event occured, etc. IF Obama, would have worked on the commitment, and felt the passion of protecting the people, as he's done with his campaign, no doubt it would have become law. BUT, Obama, not relying on everyone else to do the work for him, when left to do the job, caved to the Nuclear Power Company, and powerful self interest, and rewrote the bill, making the reporting "voluntary", and "at the decretion" of the nuclear power plant. Do you suppose a promise to protect the health of people, is as important as not taxing people in a certain economic bracket? Sorry, I don't trust Obama with anything.

I believe Obama is a master of appearing geniune, getting into people's heads, to determine what they need to see, to believe anything he says, despite plain facts. This is what lawyers do....Johnny Cochran was a master at it. Obama simply is manipulating the public to believe, he is something, he is not. Otherwise, he would have NEVER allowed people to accuse Hillary of demeaning the work of Martin Luther King Jr., even if it cost him the election. Because the unity of the nation, would have never been worth fueling a unjust accusation...over race issues.

I don't believe Obama never heard Rev. Wright. I don't believe Obama and Ayers didn't have discussions about our society. If Obama ever stood up for what he claims he believes in, it's interesting that Wright or Ayers would be interested in him. I can't support someone who is so willing to "listen" to what others say, who are radical, but doesn't make an effort to convince them, with his amazing skills, that their thoughts and positions are flawed...especially since these people have such influence on the outer edges of America.

Although I see where Ann pushes the envelope with some of her own comments, I think she does have really good points, and I think she did a really good job pointing out some of the statements Obama has made,
that give insight into why he chose his church, and lied to the American public about hearing Wright's controversial statements, and that he would have spoke out against them. It's pretty clear, I think, that Obama believes a lot of what Wright believes...and "unity", is only a front. Please, take the time to read the article.

All of his "how dare you" attitude against the Clintons, twisting their comments to make it sound like they were attacking Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream instead of himself (Obama). What a self absorbed jerk. So Wright can say the most horrible things, and "because he likes him", he will look past it, but Hillary and Bill question how he's going to use speech to get the Republicans in the Senate and Congress to do whatever he wants, and in their case, despite supporting black causes, his campaign releases the statement, "A cross-section of voters are alarmed at the tenor of some of these statements,” said Obama spokeswoman Candice Tolliver “There’s a groundswell of reaction to these comments — and not just these latest comments but really a pattern, or a series of comments that we’ve heard for several months,” she said. “Folks are beginning to wonder: Is this really an isolated situation, or is there something bigger behind all of this?” (Politico, Ben Smith)

"Obama responded immediately to the Clinton interview, saying she had offended people who believed she had diminished King's role
~"...Senator Clinton made an unfortunate remark, an ill-advised remark, about King and Lyndon Johnson,...she, I think, offended some folks who felt that somehow diminished King's role in bringing about the Civil Rights Act." Obama (Politico, Ben Smith).
    Politico, Ben Smith, 1/11/08.

What a hypocrite. What a double standard. Let's not expect Wright, to "know better". Let's treat him with less respect than you would those you criticize, and expect less from him than what he's capable of...let's treat him like "poor misguided uncle wright". Come On! Either he really expects very little from the man to be able to figure out right from wrong, or he really buys into Wright's rhetoric. The chickens are coming home to roost Senator Obama, you can't have it both ways.

What did he do when Hillary criticized Obama's notion that great speeches will not pass bills with Republicans in the Senate and Congress? He excitely acknowledged how she offended people who felt she was demeaning the work of Martin Luther King Jr. Appears to me the man "he knows" deserves to be treated with respect, but Hillary, a blacks right supporter, we can be suspicious of, and interpret her comments in the most negative way possible. Yet when Michelle Obama makes a statement that appears to be insensitive, we have to knock ourselves out trying to understand why she said what she said. I personally think he's using this "unity" thing, as a front. To pander to people in America, that he really wouldn't choose to associate with if he had a chance, illustrated by his refusal to change or even LOOK for other churches with a pastor who wasn't such a racist. I don't believe, for one second, that Wright never expressed racist ideals infront of Obama, since he seemed SO comfortable announcing his ideas across the church. I am sorry, I don't believe Obama is for real. I think he harbors some of the suspicions he's talked about in his speech. I think his speech was just lip service, and damage control. (more)

I stopped attending a church because of the Preachers "personal" spin on his sermons, because they upset me, and I disagreed with him. I don't see how it's possible Obama could not have known the personal beliefs of his pastor, especially if he considered him like "an Uncle", married you, and baptized your children. I don't believe him. (more)

There were so many real questions to ask, and he wasted our time. "if Iraq wanted us out, what would you do?" What an IDIOT!!!!! DA!

What about, if the Iraq bills assertions, that yellow cake uranium had been bought by Saddam, and Saddam was supporting Terrorist training camps, and he had the means to supply them with dirty bombs or WMD's, or, if Iraq was violating the cease fire agreement of not allowing inspectors into the country, would you have voted against the bill (to Obama).

(to Obama) You praised the Bush administration for using strikes to act against areas where you believe Al Qaida's hiding out in Pakistan. Since you didn't know the intel inside the Iraq Bill was false when you were opposed to it in 2002, as cited in your 2007 Inteview, why isn't your position to be suspicious of the White House's Intel on anything, and how can you say you would have voted against the Iraq bill, when you have a history in the State Senate of requesting to change your vote after voting has finished and on issues where your vote stood out from the majority, and passed socially irresponsible bills?

Are you asserting that John Kerry, Chris Dodd, and 75 other Senators, out of 100 who voted for the Iraq bill, "ignored" key intel, and acted "carelessly"? Why would you want those Senators who voted so "carelessly", representing you in your campaign?

Tim Russert, what a suck up.

Obama....because he claims to be the candidate of Unity and Change, but all he's shown, is he expects everyone else to change. He'll nuture rhetoric that accuses long time black right supporters of being racist, just to avoid dealing with real criticism, like he did with Hillary. He never did say how he plans to get the Republican Senate and Congress to pass his ideas...did he? Couldn't get a "slam dunk" issue like reporting Nuclear Power Plant waste leaking into ground water past Republicans, (you'd like a little imagry of mothers mixing tainted water with baby formula would have done the trick), but he's selling to the public that he can....where's the "HOW?"
Show me the money Mr. Obama! If you can't, don't pretend to be something you're not. Campaign like any other politician, don't molest the innocence of voters who might actually believe that somehow you have a plan, when you don't!

Well hell, he's convinced them that 77 out of 100 Senators, and 296 out of 429 Congressmen, ignored "other intel that disputed the White House's intel", and conversley, 23 Senators, and 133 Congressmen, who were against the invasion, decided to keep this intel secret from the Country.

I mean, statistically speaking, for 75% of the Senate to agree on Anything, is amazing. To claim that they would not consider all the facts very seriously, and act carelessly, in my mind, is an insult to them, and our system. But, the Obama supporters are so enraptured by him that they are like women who stay with men who beat them, "but I love him". Makes no sense to me.

Third, she didn't "support the Black Panthers". What she did do, was "support" the two men who were Black Panthers who were on trial for killing another Black Panther.

According to published accounts, Alex Rackley was a Panther recruit from New York who was tortured and killed in New Haven, Connecticut because he was suspected of being a police informant. Twelve Panthers were indicted including Warren Kimbro, Erica Huggins, and Panther leader Bobby Seale.

~Contrary to the email, Kimbro was not proven to be the "shooter" and did not stand trial, but did plead guilty to second degree murder. He was later released from prison and admitted to Harvard. We have not found evidence that he was a college dean.

~Another Panther was convicted of having fired the fatal shot and was sentenced to life in prison.

~Huggins and Seale were tried together, but the jury deadlocked and their cases were dismissed.

~The Bobby Seales trial drew protests, not because the protestors approved of murder, but they felt that the Panthers were being treated unfairly by the authorities and that Seales, who was not personally involved in the killing, should not have been tried. In his trial, the jury deadlocked, and his case was dismissed.

~There were demonstrations at Yale, but they were peaceful, did not "shut down" the university.

~Hillary was not an attorney at that time, but helped organize shifts of students to monitor the courtroom. (there was no courtv back then).

~Hillary was a campus leader during the Panther protests--- (but she was NOT the "LEADER" of the protests).

~there is no evidence that she supported the views of the Black Pathers

But I can honestly say after what people saw coming out of the sixties, a lot of people did feel for the plight of blacks being treated unfairly. I give her credit for having the principle to stand behind values our country holds, that a man is innocent until proven guilty, especially when we have NO idea back then how the police investigation went (remember the novel, "to kill a mockingbird"? ). I also give her credit for standing up if it was suspected they were not being given a fair trial. Like it or not, those are principles our countries hold dear.
    http://www.truthorfiction.com...

Her life since then I think is testimony that she did not do anything wrong. Just for the record, the people who Newsmax.com , who seems to be getting off on this crap, cites for sources that addresses the bulk of this rumor, were the "rush limbaugh" type. They didn't like Hillary, and it shows in reviews on the books.

'Bad Hillary for wanting them to have a fair trial, wanting them to be treated fairly by the police, and not judging them solely based on belonging to a group, but instead on evidence and actions--what Ridiculous concepts!!' (sarcasm)
