1. Strap their pay to a fixed multiple of the average salary in the USA.
2. Eliminate any ability to legislate automatic pay raises unless open for review by constituents for 1 year.
3. Eliminate all federal pension plans when the USA is running any deficit for congress and senate past and present. Let them live on social security or their own investments like we do.
4. Limit staff and office expenses to a comparative to the private sector.
5. Assure that all congress and senate members MUST use government ran health care programs or pay for other plans out of their own pockets.
6. Eliminate all free travel on military or private planes. Let them budget and pay for the travel required out of their operating expense budget.
7. Eliminate all free trips by all lobbyists
8. Prohibit any ex-politician for working as a lobbyist, for a lobbying firm, or having any professional affliation with a lobbying firm for six years after leaving office (let them find a real job, six years is one senate term).
9. Consider giving each congress person or senator a fixed amount for all salary and office expenses and let them run their own operations using their allocated funds. After all, they claim to be equal to CEO's right?
10. Cut or increase all existing pension plans by the same percentage of the annual performance of 401K and 403B's nationally each year.
That would clean up a lot. And finally, bring back term limits. 12 years as a congressman or senator period. Then out. (more) -

Nancy Pelosi lies, uses military aircraft under false pretense, William Jefferson has 90 thousand in bribe money in his freezer, ACORN is under indictment in several states yet they continue unabated, John Murtha slanders our troops with false accusations and is deeply involved in contracting corruption, Al Franken and the Democrats running Minnesota pull an Al Gore and fabricate votes like Christine Gregoire in Washington did twice, and no one in the mainstream media even covers it except for Fox News. So, last weeks ratings? Fox News beats MSNBC and CNBC by a 170% (yes, that's right) margin. Yet, still no coverage in the mainstream media. But they were all over Paiin about her overzealous persecution of a State Trooper (nothing ever happened), Ted Stevens Conviction (overturned), Tom Delay (still hasn't had a day in court), and of course running Trent Lott out of town on a rail when he suggested a very aged Strom Thurmond could have been a good president in 1948 while he was still a segregationist. Interesting on the latter point since the sitting president at the time mentored under William J. Fulbright who was an absolute segregationist as was Al Gore's daddy who opposed the civil rights laws in the mid-1960's. Add to this the screaming hysteria about AIG bonuses from the Dems and not a peep about Robert Rubin and his 105 Million from his total ruination of Citigroup, Jeffrey Immhelt and his reducing GE to junk bond status, and Franklin Raines and his 100 million in salary and bonuses while cooking the books at Fannie Mae. And finally, let's not forget about good ole Countrywide Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad who although they are still heading our top financial committees, pulled a Geithner and stated that they were too dense to understand a 1.5% mortgage is a special deal. I guess they used the "I can't understand TurboTax but I can run the Treasury" defense Timmy used.
The hypocrisy of the liberals and their willing allies in the now dying media could fill books, and the slavish defense of the indefensible ACORN is only rivaled by the total fraud which is the current Waxman-Markie Cap and Trade travesty, one of the all time hoaxes ever pulled on the gullible liberal public.
If there were only a couple of Skinheads working at ACORN with "We Love David Duke" shirts ACORN would be out of business in 24 hours. (more)
