So it is, now that I look again...

I love the big old oaks. They are beautiful ANY time of the year

No it is the top of a stained glass window in an old church. I should try again to take the shot actually I probably have a better one if I go through my pictures again. I took that at about 4:30pm today. That is a red oak tree with its fall colors. The blue in the background is the stained glass.

No afraid not. It is about a 4 hour drive and in the middle of hot August. I really to did not have the means to carry out that sort of project...Nor the heart. I wanted to cremate her but had to fight with him about having the vet to the house to put her to sleep.(dutch and their love of money) So a compromise as to how she was to be buried was in order. We buried her inside the grapes. I collected a bunch of rock on my little road trip. I will stack those on top of her grave. I will continue to collect rock and stack on her grave. Each one I pick up each one I put down I will be thinking of her. I did learn one thing...my good catholic husband has absolutely no intentions of honoring my request for cremation...That I could read in his eyes when I wanted to burn Chewy's remains myself. I need to get that shit on paper. Or make sure to outlast him.

Time will heal these wounds. She has been a big part of your life.

That's the thing about disenfranchised grief ~ we feel as though we shouldn't mourn, yet we do; and want to so much...

Will she lay up at the mountain?

Thanks Rana it hasn't been all that long and for some weird reason it saddens me more with each passing day.

I saw your comment to David. My heart goes out to you.... I can understand why you would not want to leave her.

Congrats on your awards. You really did deserve them!

No I have not. Although this winter I won a local photo contest. I took 1st and 3rd. I have a gap in photo taking have not done much since Christmas. My old dog had been pretty sick so I was taking her with me when I left for the Mountain. I did not want to leave her locked in the car while I was snapping pics. She was really too old to walk very far.
