+4 raves Perhaps it has less to do with political parties, and more to do with the fact that opposing part... Perhaps it has less to do with political parties, and more to do with the fact that opposing parties don't serve the people until they are done endorsing themselves time and time again. Not to say that the fault lays exclusively with the citizens motivated enough to get into professional politics, because the average American encourages their petty bickering. It is easier for someone to choose between Democrat and Republican rather than having all the choices laid out on the table, and using their logic to isolate a single course of action. I think that if the larger picture was brought into clearer focus, Americans might spend less time being obnoxious about the little things, and start picking and choosing options that would actually make a difference for the better. In this modern world, it is rare that someone takes their head out of their technologically advanced arse long enough to form their own opinion. They should be gently prodded, tested, and debated for both parties.
Something that really gripes my ass: Someone with an opinion meets Anyone with an opinion. Someone presents a few points and waits for a rebuttle. Anyone makes personal attacks and resorts to the, 'you're absurd because you don't agree with ME!' In this scenario, Someone respected that opinions are merely an individual's interpretation of facts, and Anyone's opinion is a result of them weighing the facts differently. (more) -
