And, hidden charges? I got hit too, although it really was minor compared to some. I had a checking account that cost nothing to open and was supposed to be "free". Well, it was until I stopped making direct deposits into that account, and I suddenly found myself being billed a monthly service charge because I was no longer making direct deposits into the account. I closed the account immediately and changed banks. I was going to change the checking account into a savings account, but after that bogus (my opinion) fee, I decided never to bank there again.
