I have been married for 35 years and have 4 children, all are grown and own their own now except for one.

I've been working on my ranch for a little over 25 years now and wouldn't change a thing, I love being my own boss and having not to answer to someone, except the bank of course.

Thanks for the rave. We went through your great state on the way to California last year. One of the best trips I every took. I have the same pix of the Continental Divide. We also went to Pike's Peak (drove up) Mesa Verde, Bryce and Zion....awesome. Visit my page for some pix. I LOVE Zion Natl Park and am envious of anyone living in Colorado!!

+2 raves Some people may disagree but in the long run for me it's about security in my old age, sure I can... Some people may disagree but in the long run for me it's about security in my old age, sure I can work a low paying job just because I love it and like that kind of work BUT in reality for me it would be a bad decision considering the fact that one day I will be retired.

I would rather work myself into something different that has a better financial future because when you retire and start to draw Social Security or from your IRA or 401k your gonna want to have plenty of money in that account.

If you work a low paying job all your life your gonna suffer in the end, I knew a lady growing up that worked at a five and dime store for about 25 years and when she retired she drew only about $300 a month in SS.

She died a few years later after retirement because she became very ill and she could not pay for some of her medicare and medical bills because she only made 300 a month.

I live in Colorado and it's full of retirees and a lot of them are struggling right now due to things like that, you have to plan for your financial future because in some cases it can mean life or death. (more)
