  • Hi, I appreciate your comment, but I view my falsely attributed quotes as politcal commentary and am not concerned about those who may not recognize their source (or even their falseness).

    I just really like Orwell.

  • hello i was reffered here by one of your friends. he says you are an extremely knowledgable christian. i just wanted to argue a few points with you (please reply to my page): How can God let us just destroy ourselves? If the bible says that we were created in God's image, then he must hold us in high regard, shouldn't he? If he is unable to help us then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, then is he willing? If he isn't then he is malevolent. If he is both willing and able then where does evil come from? If is neither able nor willing, then why call him God?

  • John, you have expressed the common sensethat so many clearly lack in their grasping at straws to upend the president. They obviously didn't hear Mr. McCain when he conceded and said that Obama would be his president, and that it was time to put aside the rhetoric of campaigning and come together for the good of the nation.Thank you for trying to do what McCain called for!

Now, I believe in giving a healthy sexual education to teens. In my opinion such an education would sound like this.

"The absolute best way to avoid the risks of unwanted pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections, is to abstain from Sexual Activity with other People. Masturbation is a healthy way to relieve sexual tension without risking pregnancy or infection.

If you do choose to have sex, it would be best to use a barrier method of birth control such as a condom. While these methods have a high success rate, there is still a risk of Pregnancy and STD, especially if used incorrectly. Sexual activity always bears the inherent risk of pregnancy and STD's"

This covers all major bases. 1, Kids get a realistic view of sex. They know that if they have sex they can get pregnant/get ill. If they choose to have sex, they know how to significantly lower the risk of unwanted consequences. And no one can say they were never warned should the unfortunate happen.

Regarding the morality of sex, that is not the school's job to teach. Let their parents, mentors or religious leaders inform them about the moral consequences of sex.

I expect many Christians will doubt my faith, and many liberals will call me a right wing nut bar after this post.

I'm used to such responses however.

Is that I disagree with you that 1) While the processes of evolution can clearly happen without the guidance of a divine source, the creation of the first simple single celled organism (and the big bang for that matter), demand a first cause. That first cause may or may not be what we would call a God, but from the human understanding of physics, we cannot be the only reality as our universe is a decaying one, not a regenerating one.

and 2) that creationists are necessarily stupid people. You can be wrong about one thing and still be brilliant.

I rather enjoy fantasy. Harry Potter was Incredible, I love the Narnia Series, The Inheritance cycle is pretty good, and I'm considering trying out twilight (although if i find the mush to be too much i'll put it down).

The Four Most Popular Fantasy works of our time (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Twilight and Narnia) were all written by Christians.

I'll be back when he can form an intelligent, linear and coherent thought rather than jumping from idea to idea with little to glue them together but a general mouth-frothing rage.
