Actions are more descriptive than words.
That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Those of you that befriended me, all of you showed a real interest in what i had to say and I loved that personal support. Thank you.

You write as if you either were exposed too PTSD or live with it. Either way, you wrote a masterpiece.

There are a lot of Vets that don't qualify for help at the V.A. Medical Centers. No address, PO Boxes don't count. No phone number. Street people who haven't been sober for 30 days, or drug free for 30 days are ALL summarily excluded. A lot of us are in prisons. There is no help for them there. All of these excuded people are denied the medications they need, and the other medical care, and the V.A. Disability Compensation that would change everything for them. If anyone wants to do someting for them, this is a wonderful cause. We've got to find them, house them, get them off their self medications (alcohol or drugs) clean them up with respectable clothes (nothing fancy) and let them stay there for long enough to get the help and compensation they deserve. That's a six month process... A lot of local Homeless Shelters are already set up for this, but their funding is horribe. If you decide

I am a Combat Infantry Veteran, wounded in action (Purple Heart) decorated for courage under fire (Bronze Star with V device for Valor). I have both kinds of wounds, and with 100% disability for two gunshot wounds, 70% (chronic and Severe) PTSD is twice as bad. I had an emotional breakdown, more like a complete meltdown. Until an Emergency Room Nurse got me to see a VA Psychiatrist, I had no idea why my life was a total disaster. I owe her so very much!

It means a great deal to servicepeople like me, my Sisters and Brothers, that we are finally being accepted... at long last. As good as it feels, it doesn't erase 20 years of disrespect. But to have people in supermarkets stop and say 'thank you for your service', they are not asking which war. They are just saying they appreciate all of us. I thank God daily that Iived long enough to see our fallen Sisters and Brothers honored, and the rest of us accepted. Helping them is tax deductable.

Again, thank you for this, and thank you for caring enough to do this. Respectfully, Matt

I've been in a head on collision, another idiot caved in the driver's side when I was driving, and I served in Vietnam. The entire time, minute by minute, was in fear, often terror. The day I was shot in vietnam was the worst of all. (more)

I believe it makes more sense to hunt down the terrorist cells that are here in the United States. If we don't waste any more time supporting Pakistan with 7.5 BILLION dollars over the next five years, and end our involvement in middle east wars immediately, our country could be financially solvent very quickly. Then we might find it in our national political hearts to help Americans instead of everyone else and all of the big businesses that put us in this horrible situation. I think Mr. Obama forgot that it was WE THE PEOPLE that elected him, to serve OUR needs... (more)
