About Me

I have been politically suspicious for many years, having been the president of the Young Republican club in my college and then actually investigating the truth in politics and US history I decided I'm not too happy with either of these two corrupt parties. I am not particularly fond of identifying myself with any party or church because I don't think in the same exact box the rest think in. I'm more apt to agree with Ron Paul than any other poliician but I don't worship anyone or anything.

UPDATE: I joined SodaHead around a year ago and at that time considered myself to be a moderate and neither liberal nor conservative. I haven't changed my ideology much at all since that time and I want to help prevent Obama from another term, however, the experience of being a member of this right-wing, hate-filled forum has opened my eyes. I am a LIBERAL!!!!

I'd like to meet

Honest people, of which there are very few here on Sodahead.

Activities

Researching history to understand and maybe explain to others what the hell is going on.

Here's a little tid-bit for the angry people who say Obama is the only president who ever counseled the Isrealis to return occupied land taken during the 1967 Six-day War.

"The unwavering US position since Dwight Eisenhower's administration has been that Israel's borders coincide with those established in 1949, and, since 1967, the universally adopted UN resolution 242 has mandated Israel's withdrawal from the occupied territories. As part of the Quartet, including Russia, the UN and the EU, George Bush has endorsed a "road map" for peace. But Israel has officially rejected its basic premises."

Who Will Tell the People ~ William Greider

Favorite Quotes

It's not what you don't know that gets you into trouble, it's what you know that just ain't so that gets you into trouble." ~ Samuel Clemens

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits. - Albert Einstein

“When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.” ~ Dom Hélder Câmara

"Everytime we do something you tell me America will do this and do that... I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America and the Americans know it."
~Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001, to Shimon Peres

Favorite Heroes

Those who endure ridicule to find out the truth are some of my heroes.

The enemies include the liars and proponents of the NWO who do know the difference, such as the FED, Goldman Sachs leaders, the Rockefeller family, Bush family. Hitler and others round it all out.

Most of the MSM are enemies:
"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries." ~David Rockefeller, Baden-Baden, Germany 1991

You have some good quotes there Rob. Here's another one from Dr. Einstein: "We know there are only two things that are infinite: the Universe and human stupidity. And we're not sure about the Universe."

The David Rockefeller quote is classic! Back in the early 80s (or maybe the late 70s) Bill Moyers, who at the time had a regular show on PBS, devoted a two-hour segment to David Rockefeller. He spent several weeks with him, traveling with him, attending various meetings and conferences with him, etc. In his closing statement, Moyer's looked into the camera, with a slight grin on his face, and said, "I'm not telling you David Rockefeller actually runs the world. I'll let you decide."

If you haven't read it already, you might want to take a look at "The Rockefellers: An American Dynasty," by Peter Collier and none other than the current ultra-right-wing manager of the webpage called "Front Page Mag.com," David Horowitz.

Collier and Horowitz wrote it in the mid-80s (I think), when they were both Marxists but somehow they were given access to all of the private papers and history of the Rockefeller family. It's very interesting and informative and gives a brilliant depiction of the many ways extreme wealth can exercise power.

You're definitely right about the MSM: across the board, they are little more than paid mouthpieces for the major sans-national corporations spread across the globe. I never take "news," or "information" from the TV - I haven't watched a network "news" program since Ronald Reagan was inaugurated.

Anyone who reads William Greider is alright by me! Here are a couple of well written and very interesting books by retired army colonel, Andrew J. Bacevic: "The Limits of Power: The End of American Exceptionalism" and "Washington Rules: America's Path to Permanent War." Bacevic writes plainly and concisely but is absolutely brilliant in his dissection of how American elites make policy.

I'm glad you liked my piece on Iran, it's gratifying to know at least one person was able to grasp the logic of it. Most of the SH comments are obviously made before any thought is put into the comments and so many are just idiots who hate Obama so viscerally, they come across as morons. Lately I've gone on there just to enjoy tweaking their rather limited sensibilities and ridiculing their mindless hatred. (Don't get me wrong, I have no love for Obama, myself. To me, he's just another corporate shill in love with war - pretty much like every American president since the end of WWII).

Actually, I would much rather have intelligent discussions with individuals who think for themselves, have read enough to understand both domestic politics and international relations, and have a modicum of knowledge about the global economic system.

It would be difficult for me to know what to call myself politically. I'm definitely a left-winger but not a communist, nor a liberal, I guess as close as I can come to accepting a label would be a "pragmatic leftist."

I'm extremely skeptical and critical of all who hold or seek power. And if you've been looking at my comments you surely know I'm very critical of libertarianism - particularly of those who blindly follow Ron Paul.

My favorite quote from all the ages is one by Socrates: "A wise man is critical of everything."

I gladly accept your friend request and join your "cattle drive" with pleasure.
