He was sentenced to twenty years with nineteen suspended. That is very different from being sentenced to one year. He will be on probation for nineteen years when he is released. If that is supervised probation, that is a big pain to begin with. If he violates the probation, he automatically gets the whole twenty year sentence to be served. An automatic provision of such a probation would be no contact with children. Any children, anywhere. The chances of a pedophile violating that order are very high. I have known sharp, sneaky prosecutors to use this as a way to send people to prison when they don't have the evidence for a conviction. Offer a cocaine addict probation with no time to serve knowing they will get him for violating probation within a month or two at the most. In one case, the man was only out of jail for three hours before they picked him up for buying and violation of probation. So, I think the prosecutor and the judge knew what they were doing and set up David Earls for a big fall.

    There are sort of two questions floating through this discussion which seem to get confused. One is did the judge and prosecutor do their job. With my eight years working with jail inmates, it looks to me like they were as harsh as they possibly could be and succeed with a conviction at all. The other is what sentence should Earls have gotten in a just legal system. My answer to that is he should be executed. Having worked with these creeps, I have no sympathy for them. Pedophiles do not reform, they have no remorse for what they have done, there is no reason to keep them alive that I can think of. But why are people blaming the judge and prosecutor for having to work within the limits of our lousy legal system? We desperately need to get rid of jury trials and have the three judge system which has worked so well for so long in France. Juries repeatedly let criminals get away with their crimes.     (more)

Some call us fundamentalists because we believe the Bible is inerrant (has no errors) and is the source of the Truth. The media in America has been hysterically attacking us for sometime now because we are opposed to the acceptance of homosexuality, including "gay marriage". We have no choice in this since the Bible makes it clear that homosexuality is condemned by God. I want to make it clear that we do not hate homosexuals, we love them and want to help them. Since there are so many of us who hold this belief in the Bible so dear, I think the establishment in America is being very intolerant in refusing to even let our views be heard. (more)

    +3 raves God says it is evil. In Leviticus, we are told to take homosexuals to the pillory at the edge of ... God says it is evil. In Leviticus, we are told to take homosexuals to the pillory at the edge of town and stone them to death, just like prostitutes. Now, Jesus saved the prostitute from being stoned, saying "let him who is without sin cast the first stone." So by the gentler justice of the New Testament, a case can be made for not stoning homosexuals, but that does not mean we should accept them into our society and allow them to practice their depraved perversion in our midst. St.Paul is clear that homosexuality is not acceptable in Christianity. (more)
