    +2 raves Back before I got scared into my parents' religious views whenever they told me something was bad... Back before I got scared into my parents' religious views whenever they told me something was bad religious wise (it was never anything serious, always something really petty), I would become curious about it and want to know more about it. Then I got scared into my parents views in 2003 and I became the exact opposite of what I was before I got scared into my parents' religious views. I became scared of EVERYTHING, because anything out of the ordinary that they were uncomfortable with was "The Devil" to them.

    When people put clothes on animals I was afraid of both the animal and the owner because my mom told me that people who put clothes on animals don't believe in God (what a nutty statement!). I was afraid of documentaries about prehistoric animals because my parent's always thought they were something to try to make you believe in evolution (the didn't believe in anything prehistoric except for the 5 or 6 so well known species of dinosaurs). I recall pointing at the TV screen screaming at it like it was going to steal my soul or something because they were showing something about prehistoric birds. I was 14. When I first came to this site I was afraid of everyone on here and declined most of my friend requests because I was so afraid of everyone, over the internet. Just imagine how I felt about people offline...

    So starting this year I've made a mighty effort to tear away from my parents' religious views. After all I went the first 13 years of my life with completely different beliefs that theirs, beliefs that were often in complete opposition to theirs. And now I realize just how silly my parents views really are. I can't believe I ever got scared into that mess in the first place!     (more)
