About Me

I was born and raised on a levee camp around Memphis TN during the 1950's. My father owned a construction company and had a contract with the Corp of Engineers to build levees up and down the Mississippi River. I was raised primarily by a black woman as my mother worked in the commissary on the camp. I was taken to black country churches by my black nurse, Ivory, who was married to one of my father's workers, Charlie "Bee." It wasn't until I was five years old that we moved to midtown Memphis and I started school at Peabody Elementary School in the 1950's, before desegregation.

I'm not particularly worldly. If I could sum it up, I'd say I've known more than one life in my lifetime. Seen a lot and done a lot. I'd say this about interesting. I've never met anyone who could get to the core of me. Not that I wouldn't let them, but that I'm very multi-layered and people are so impatient. Thanks for the compliment. Very sweet.
