About Me

I'm recovering from a motorcycle accident that shattered my spine, requiring spinal fusion surgeries. I'm walking again without the use of a cane-- the next step is kicking the painkiller addiction.

I'm one of the SANE conservatives here on Sodahead; one who truly believes that the Constitution should limit the Federal government; one who believes that the Federal Government should be significantly smaller in size and scope, able to be run on significantly less tax dollars.

I also believe that our military should be defending our own soil, rather than playing globalcop and being the enforcers for transnational business interests.

I believe that ALL foreign aid should be stopped immediately. with the SOLE exception of temporary assistance in the event of a large-scale catastrophe. We should not be sending a PENNY to nations that do quite well without our support-- like Israel and Saudi Arabia, just to name a couple.

Since our infrastructure is crumbling, it makes far more sense for those dollars to be used HERE, rather than adding to another Saudi palace.

Pauley Perrette, Ron Paul, Adrian Paul, Paul Gilbert (seeing a trend here?)

I would also REALLY like to meet Glenn Jacobs (AKA Kane from the WWE) and Wil Wheaton-- I keep missing him when he comes down to Mysterious Galaxy for book signings.

I'd also like to meet a few people, just to be able to see if they are as much a jackass in real life as they appear to be in the political arena-- Rudy Giuliani, Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Sam Brownback and Mitch McConnell...just to name a few.

Walking my dog and throwing her ball to her-- taking her to Dog Beach or Fiesta Island, letting her chase the ball and romp around....

Politics, playing with my dog, swimming, reading and every so often catching an episode of TV that I had previously missed.

NCIS, Highlander, Smallville, Supernatural, Mythbusters, Eureka, Kim Possible, Burn Notice.

And I've recently found an old favorite--Greg the Bunny.

Pump Up The Volume, the original Highlander.

Farnham's Freehold-- a classic from Robert A Heinlein and a must-read for ANYONE with libertarian leanings.

I'm also a fan of the Harry Dresden series by Jim Butcher, the Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton and the Nightside novels by Simon R Green.

Wherever you go, there you are.

Freedom is the distance between Church and State.

The greatest tragedy in mankind's entire history may be the hijacking of morality by religion. -- Arthur C. Clark

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

Ask your doctor if medical advice from a television commercial is right for you.

So many Christians, so few lions....

Since when did unthinking obedience to corporate interests become the definition of patriotism?

Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich-- Napoleon

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities-- Voltaire

Green Arrow, Iron Man

Both men without any 'super' powers, both men with some serious problems, but who do the right thing for the rest of society anyway.

I also view Ron Paul as a hero-- someone who stood up for what he believed in and who is the exception to the rule about politicians-- he actually IS an honest politician.

  • Thought you might enjoy this song. It is so beautiful.
    Oh America, you’re calling
I can hear you calling me
You are calling me to be true to thee
True to thee I will be

    Oh America you’re weeping
Let me heal your wounded heart
I will keep you in my keeping
‘Till there’ll be a new start

    And I will answer you
And I will take your hand
And lead you to the sun
And I will stand by you
Do all that I can do
And we will be as one

    Oh America I hear you
From your prairies to the sea
    From the mountains grand
    And all through this land
    You are beautiful to me

    And Oh America you’re calling
I can hear you calling me
You are calling me too be true to thee
True to thee I will be

    And I will answer you
And I will take your hand
And lead you to the sun
And I will stand by you
Do all that I can do
And we will be as one

    Oh America you’re calling
    I will ever answer thee

  • I might have voted for you if I had read your profile first. Soryy, I do appreciate true conservatives but not Cons. I try to be reasonable even if I disagree with a viewpoint. Have a great day.

  • Revolution Calling...great tune!!

I noticed your TV preferences and wondered if you'd ever watched Jericho. I'm actually no fan of TV--don't even own one anymore. But, this show was one of the best series I'd seen in the last 20 years. It was recommended to me and I watched the season and a half that were allowed to air twice. You can get every full episode on YouTube. Here is the link if you are interested.

I'll tell you that everyone I've recommended this show to who has watched it has not only thanked me but went on to recommend it, too.
