About Me

My names Veniversum but most people call me Ven, Vin, or Vinny (because even Ven seemed too hard for some people). It's up to you though. If you're wondering why I have such a weird name, it's because it means universe in Latin (and for you rare Latin-studyers out there, yes, ueniversum also means universe in Latin).

And if you were wondering why my sodahead name is also weird and hard to pronounce it's because Aes Sedai (eyez said day) means servant to all in the fictional language of a book series that's incredibly good (and long). And by the way, to all the people that call me Aes for short, the only thing you're saying is "all".

I love everyone even though humans have some frustrating characteristics. But when you're patient enough, you'll realize that human life is just so amazing, even if it has its flaws. The flaws just make it more perfect, as Brave New World's John the Savage would say.

I would say I'm just a middle of the road kind of guy that's pretty open minded and willing to do new things. I like talking to people and finding out more about who they are and what it's like to be them, so I'm always asking questions. Knowledge is power.

I'd like to meet

For my nonfictional people:

Jesus of Nazareth (did you know that his last name isn't really Christ?) Not necessarily in the religious sense, I just think it would be really interesting to speak to the self proclaimed son of God and judge for myself whether he really is or not. And yes he is nonfictional because it is proven that he was at least a living breathing man.

Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Junior. They both brought about a revolution using nonviolent tactics and I'd really like to learn from them.

Harvey Milk just because he was a major gay rights activist who struggled against oppression with out violence and died for his beliefs just like Christ, Ghandi and Martin Luther King Junior.

Barack Obama. Now that a large portion of America has come to dislike the president it'd be nice to hear his side of the story. Also he's a very historical figure all the same by being the first part-black president.

Some other historical American figures like Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson (although I detest his methods of governing, he's still an intriguing man), John Adams for sure, GW (of course), and Einstein. He must feel so guilty about the atom bomb. Poor guy.

For my fictional people:

V from the movie/graphic novel V for Vendetta and Rorschach from the graphic novel/movie the Watchmen because they're so damned interesting!

Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass for the same reason as V and Rorshie.

Blondie (aka the Man With No Name or simply the Good) from the Dollars series. He's my favorite character that Clint Eastwood has portrayed and he's a badass mofo. The Bad (Angel Eyes) and the Ugly (Tuco) would be pretty cool to meet too, if not a little disgusting.

and finally

Solid Snake, Big Boss and the Boss. Anyone who's played all of the Metal Gear Solid games will know why.

Activities

Friends, reading, writing, talking to people, objectively examining the human race (and often making fun of it), playing video games, watching--sometimes critiquing--movies, and talking to people that are good at making conversation. I hate when people give you one word answers to everything. It's my pet peeve

Interests

Debating, the arts, learning new and useful things, going on the computer, swimming, talking to people, video games , reading books and comic books, watching movies, and hanging with friends. Oh and, can't forget going to the beach and basking in the sun. (:

Favorite Music

System Of A Down, Serj Tankian, Muse, Green Day, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Coldplay, Motion City Soundtrack, Queensryche, Johnny Cash, Elton John, and music in other languages (especially Japanese and Italian). I'm pretty open to all types of music and I like a lot of different genres. Have to say I'm not all that big on rap though.

Favorite TV Shows

Batman: the Animated Series (the Dark Knight cartoon from the 90s), the Simpsons, Deadliest Warrior, Glee (it's a misfit in this list, but I still like it), Family Guy, South Park, 24, and Code Geass and some other anime. Robot Chicken is alright. So is Burn Notice.

Favorite Movies

V for Vendetta (my favorite), The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (and other Eastwood movies), Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, the Horror of Dracula, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman (1989), and all of the Batman cartoon movies (as cheesy as that sounds) like Mask of the Phantasm, Return of the Joker and Gotham Knight. Also gotta love the Indiana Jones trilogy (not so big on Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), the original Star Wars Trilogy, the Back to the Future trilogy, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and of course the Terminator and Rocky movies. In case you didn't notice, I love trilogies. Not too long and a perfect amount of time to fully develop the story.

Favorite Books

The Wheel of Time series, Unwind, The Stand, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, It's a Kind of Funny Story, the Outsiders, the Cheat, the House of the Scorpion and Ender's Game (probably my all time favorite). The Hunger Games trilogy is pretty good too, but not as good as everyone says it is. Those are my novels. As for my graphic novels (the fat comic books) I love V for Vendetta, The Watchmen, Batman: Year One, Batman: The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns, Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, and 52.

Favorite Quotes

"Behind this mask there is more than flesh. Behind this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof"-- the Man From Room Five [V] (in response to Mr. Creedy's "Die, die! Damn you, why won't you die!?")

Favorite Heroes

My older brother. He's a Jersey City police officer (South Side) and just recently he saved a family from a burning building (among many other good deeds around that shithole...no offense to people from there..)
