Dear Editor Baird answers his own question on how he should vote on Healthcare Reform at Town Hall. I attended the Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Brian Baird. He said he had not decided on any bill or direction yet for healthcare reform. He reminded the crowd that early in the Bush Administration, he voted against the Medicare Bill pushed by AARP, that lowered drug costs for seniors by borrowing billions from China to fund it, and creating the donut hole trap costing seniors more as their drug costs increase with age. That bill also allowed private insurance to enter into the government run Medicare dealings. This was done in attempt to eventually end government run Medicare, putting profiteers’ foot in that door. I heard NO republican crying at having to borrow billions which has helped only to increase costs and deficits, especially from those screaming it is Obama who is running up the deficit and who wants to destroy Medicare. AARP approves profiteering and is instructing seniors to forget any public option in healthcare reform. Shame on them, again. I watched all night as a secret vote on that Medicare bill was extended into the wee hours. It didn’t originally pass, but Bush was awaken, and within two hours, 3 more republicans changed their votes to pass that bill. I often wondered what had been done, promised or said that could change their moral desires from a no vote to yes? Thank you Brian for voting no on that bill, it took courage. But the third question to Baird was “We have been fighting for national healthcare for over 100 years now, because Congress has known that with the progress of the industrial and tech ages, people would become sicker; so do you believe healthcare is a moral issue, a right, or is it all about money?” Brian answered: “I personally believe it is about justice and a moral issue that all Americans receive quality healthcare, BUT it is about money too.” “Money,” he said, “is how all things are to be considered and done today.” I suggest to the Congressman that he has answered his own question on what kind of Healthcare Reform he needs to vote for: A single payer, Medicare like program to care for our chemically induced illnesses. An obligation all other industrialized countries offer their people because of their awareness and moral compassion that we are sicker largely as the downfall of progress, and NOT because people do not want to work or pay taxes for coverage. At least Baird should support a strong public option. Any politician who states they believe healthcare has become a moral issue, a fair and just right, cannot put private profiteering insurance first. If he votes on any other plan, the insurance lobbyists spending 1.4 million a day, and possibly doubling their efforts at Congress’s door since returning from their August break, has won over our Congressman’s wisdom with their money and promises coming first over moral justice. President Obama himself, has stated that “the Insurance Industry was built on the foundation of sand.” We know it will crumble sometime and NOW is the time Congressman. America did their part and gave Democrats the power for meaningful and promised change. END THE ILLEGAL FAITH BASED PROGRAM - PUTTING THE BILLIONS A YEAR TO THEM TO SINGLE PAYER healthcare instead! WE ARE PROFOUNDLY DISTURBED AT THIS PROGRAM CONTINUING UNDER OBAMA AND HIS REFERENCE THAT THE SUPREME COURT WILL TAKE IT UP SOME DAY - WILLINGLY SPENDING TAX DOLLARS AND forcing ENERGY and more tax spending TO CONTINUE FIGHTING THIS VIOLATION OF SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE which has created hundreds of thousands of tax free fly by night businesses that profit!!!!!! -

SS & Mediare has been fine - AND we can improve on it - and all those yelling against national healthcare DO NOT WANT TO LET THOSE DOLLARS GO! ABSOLUTELY NO LOGICAL REASON WHY WE CANNOT HAVE THE BEST SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE IN THE WORLD! And those who like their policies forget - should admit that those change constantly - and will again, over and over with less for more $MONEY - (as been the practice for decades) AND THEY WILL CHANGE whether we get a public option or not! Just the ongoing drip, drip of disappointment in plans. I believe in single payer/universal healthcare at this time (past time) for Americans is why - BUT would take his strong public option, because (as the right & Corp Gods keeps screaming about - it will eventually lead to universal because the greedy will not put up or out for decent policies in the future when they have to let much of their unreasonable profits go). WE ARE SICKER FROM PROGRESS. The downside of the industrial and tech ages is this fact. For nearly 30 years, insurance Gods have known we have some 300 chemicals, some toxic, in our genetic makeup. We have seen GROWING numbers of aggressive cancers, ADHD, Autism, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Cellulitis and on and on.... Greeedy so called free marketeers paid/bought Congress to pass laws to protect THEM, not "the OF, BY and FOR Government" of the people. Congress helped promote (for decades) the insurance gods LIE about denials due to a "pre-determined condition." So - we as a progressive nation have been blessed, but with a downside. And now Congress should (as Obama) pass real reform, taking profiteering (extreme profiteering) out of healthcare. These TRUTHS MANDATE a national healthcare system (not the hype, lies and scare tactics we are seeing today as so many times when Dems have worked on this - NOT Republicans when they have had majority - they do not waiver from their belief that a free market system IF YOU CAN MAKE MILLIONS, DO IT, NOTHING SHOULD INTERFER). Americans did their part - they gave the super control for Dems once again to REFORM healthcare and those crimes. And Obama and Congress still are not listening! We do not need more Insurance reform - we need healthcare reform - they way it is done and through our taxes (not more taxes necessarily - because our leaders are still wasting too much of the what? 3 trillion a year they recieve? - like the illegal faith based initiative Bush program that Obama has also kept!) -

in life - in current issues - all things in balance. they can pray- as long as they do not make it a theatrical "to be seen by everyone" thing - They need to practice their own religion. Jesus said "when you pray, go into your own room (heart) and do not stand on the corner boasting your prayers publicly...." Even screaming about not having their so called right to openly pray is unscriptual - making an open fight about prayer for all to see. c'mon - people- quit fighting and od the right thing. -

No - my God, how long does Isreal want us to support them inching closer to the place where the muslim Dome of the Rock now stands, which use to be Moses's holy temple, so they can REBUILD (according to bible) over that again and the "third time" building of that temple, so as to usher in the second coming of Christ? You see, Jesus won't come until that is accomplished. The temple must sit on the exact spot for the third time before he comes in all his glory. what crap - we need to grow up - all of us and that is all Obama is asking. -

JUST THINK ABOUT IT. Now think, let's see for standing, or sitting/concentrating/typing working as fast as possible as a checker - and what and how those expend human energy for 8 to 12 hours a day (to go home, cook, clean, bath kids, study) You could earn a 1/2 gallon of milk - a loaf of bread - a box of crackers and a can of soup for every hour. 3-4 days work, could earn you maybe 1 week's worth of groceries. How does the car note, the mortgage, the electric, gas, trash, water&sewer;, clothing, college or school supplies and my FAVORITE ONE : Doctor and Dental bills get paid? Forget vacations or entertainment other than TV. Inflation is mostly greed, and the more they make, the less we make and the more we need. sick -

It is clear to me (more than ever before) that Liz Cheney is a product of daddy's thinking, and maybe not of her own - She is untransformational - Her views are archaic - not in step with the world today, or the American people, Christian people, others. She has not struggled with that silver spoon as those of us who have, and through those struggles are stronger and growing. It is horrifying to look back and truly see the mindset of those who have led the country for the 8 years of Bush/Cheney doctrine. The fact that she is sustained by and stuck in mis information and untruth of both American ideals and Christian fundamental manipulation, should lead one to understand she is a dying model of a certain time of American history and peoples. Shame on these people....they have brought the United States to it's spiritual and financial knees. We are growing because of that disaster - but cannot forget, turn our heads on those who break laws and treaties. We cannot. America wilol not move forward without truth and if necessary acountibility.
