Still a viable "group"?
Of Course!! Thank you for poking me with a stick!
I think Barbara Boxer is wonderful! I'll never forget the late Sen. Paul Wellstone from Minnesota calling her his hero in an interview he did. She's one of my heroes too. -

Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas?
Happy Holidays
If I know for sure that person celebrates Christmas, then I might say Merry Christmas, but otherwise, I say Happy Holidays!. I for one am not Christian (non-religious but proud Jew) and don't celebrate Christmas and I much prefer hearing Happy Holidays or Happy Hannukah (if the person knew or thought I was Jewish). -
Is the loathing of Hillary Clinton justified by actions? No one seems to back up that opinion, but many have it. Why?
It's sad, unjustified 'group-think'; radio host push the idea.
I think it is a combination of the first two choices given--gender bias and groupthink. Also, a bit of the third answer in that a lot of Democrats were upset with her vote giving the President the authority to go to war with Iraq. Speaking for myself, I disagreed with her vote but understood why she (along with other Democratic senators) voted that way. However, what is not logical (and is probably related to gender bias) is why she was so criticized for that vote when so many other Democratic senators (e.g. Vice President-Elect Joe Biden) voted for the Iraq War authority and were not criticized so vehemently. -

Which political issue is the most important to you and why?
Civil Liberties
in particular, preserving and strengthening the Separation of Church and State. In my view, if you want the country to be even MORE polarized, just bring religion into politics. As an agnostic Jew and secular humanist, I say no thanks! I am proud of your (Senator Boxer's) record on the Separation of Church and State and look forward to her continuing courage in fighting against those who want to put religion into politics.
