About Me

Some of the questions I ask on SodaHead are not meant to see what opinions people have but to make a point. Some of the questions I ask are rhetorical questions in which I know how people will vote but hope will get people to think about different issues.

If I ask a question on whether a certain action is ok assuming certain parameters and the action is considered immoral by most people in my culture then I am probably trying to make the parameters look silly whether than trying to justify the action. Often the same parameters I ask if people will accept an action that most people will agree is immoral on are the ones that people will use to justify other actions and so when I ask people if they would accept an immoral act on certain parameters what I'm really trying to demonstrate is that those parameters cannot be used to justify anything. The way I see it is that for an argument to be valid it must not only work on justifying something you agree with but must also work to get you to accept things you don't agree with and if the argument does not work on anything you don't agree with then it doesn't work at all.

I understand that I do make spelling mistakes however if you come to one of my posts just to complain about my spelling without actually responding to what I have said I will probably block you. I’m willing to allow people to respond to what I say even if they disagree with me but I am not willing to allow people to come just to make personal attacks no matter what they are. I rarely if ever make spelling mistakes on purpose so I can get irritated when people act as if I choose to misspell things. Some ways to tell that I try my best to spell things correctly are, 1 the fact that I spell out words whether than using text language, 2 Most of the words I use are spelled correctly, 3 you can understand what I’m saying and most words that are misspelled are still close enough to the correct spelling to be understood.

I believe that we should always question even our most basic beliefs as if you don’t question your beliefs it is far easier to brain wash you. Never questioning your beliefs and never changing them with new information will actually increase the number of wrong beliefs you have as it will mean that if you make a mistake it will never be corrected. If you question your beliefs and are willing to change them based on new information then you may be just as likely to make mistakes but at least it is more likely that your mistakes will be corrected.

I also believe that morality is defined by the principle of that harming others is immoral no matter what it is and helping others is moral no matter what it is. I believe that even an action that is normally morally neutral is immoral if it causes harm and even an action that is normally immoral is morally neutral if it causes no harm.
