Zimmerman charges should be reduced NOW.

When I asked this question, I never intended to start a debate on whether Zimmerman is guilty or of what. Absolutes are unknowable, but probabilities can be estimated. In terms of what will happen in the court and the money spent trying this case, it does not much matter whether he is guilty or what the correct charge should be. What matters is what can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. An awful lot of money is being wasted bringing a case to court if there is no possibility of getting a conviction. I believe that when the medical report came in there was no longer a glimmer of hope of getting a conviction. Therefore the prosecutor is wasting an awful lot of time and money trying a case she knows she is going to lose just to make a political point. It is extremely unfair to the jury to make them sit through a trial where everyone knows what the outcome will be.

I am a member of the Nation of Islam, a "Black Muslim". I have a gun to protect my family, my home and myself. I had not thought about it much before this case became big news, but I have realized that I did not get that gun to repel Klansmen coming to lynch me. If I had to use it, it would probably be on a burglar robbing my home, which in my neighborhood probably means a black man. So be it. I really think it is time we took race out of this case. Zimmerman was injured and frightened at the time he shot Martin. That makes the shooting self defense. Now, I think Zimmerman is guilty of something in the events leading up to the shooting, even if the shooting itself is innocent. Something like stalking or harassment. But that is a far cry from murder.

When the medical report was released showing Zimmerman was attacked and his head beaten against the sidewalk, all charges should have been dropped. What happened before that point is totally irrelevant. A person has a right to defend himself from having brain damage from beating, Simple self defense. Color or race does not matter, who started the confrontation does not matter, even who assaulted who first does not matter. All that the defense has to prove is that Zimmerman could reasonably believe he was in danger of being killed or maimed at the moment he fired. His wounds plus the fact he only fired once proves that. Most people would empty the clip to make sure their attacker was dead.

I love the double standard here .. Zimmerman can kill someone .. even if he starts a fight and lose. I guess stand your ground does not apply to some people. Also the medical report did not prove that attack happen like Zimmerman said it does.

Without a doubt, now i see on the news that good old Zim was walking along freely in the Sanford Police station 3 days after shooting Martin..interesting! to say the least.Also, for someone who reportedly had their head smashed in 3 days prior and despite the small bandage on the back of his head , he didn't look or act very injured at all.

The prosecution will NEVER sustain a 2nd Degree Murder Conviction, based on the fact that Zimmerman sustained visible, documented injuries inflicted by the deceased.

The "Stand your Ground Law" in Florida allows one to defend himself if he/she feels his/her life is threatened. Obviously Zimmerman sustained injuries that indicate he was being beaten. If the beating continued (such as head being continually pounded against the cement) this could have resulted in loss of life.

Since as he did not have a concussion, and Martins phone and other effects were found on the grass it does not seem likely that his had was being beat in to the ground.

Also are you telling me that you can start a fight and if you lose you can shot someone . Since the only witness that heard what happen say that Martin Scream get off of me before the fight ..

Lastly wouldn't Stand your ground work for Martin since he had a man with a gun following him in the dead of the night ?

A person does not have to be beat til almost DEAD before we are allowed to defend our selves.

Witnesses saw Martin on top of Zimmerman beating him. Cooberating evidence were injuries that included Zimmerman bleeding from the back of the head, broken nose and grass stains on the back of his shirt. The ONLY injury on Martin other than the gunshot wound, were scrapes on his knuckles that resulted from him beating Zimmerman.

Also Zimmerman called 911 to report Martins' suspicious conduct in a neighborhood where mulitple breakins had occurred.

Carrying a concealed weapon with a permit is LEGAL. Zimmerman had a permit.

I am retired Law Enforcement and can legally carry a firearm. If I see a suspicious unknown person in my neighborhood I have the legal right to watch him. If that person attacks me. I will defend myself and if that means using a gun to stop him from pounding my head against the cement, I will.

This incident is a tragedy and my sympathies go out to the Martin family. There are a lot of what if's that shouldn't have happened for this to occur. Both Zimmerman and Martin could have avoided this confrontation.

First you still have not shown that Martin started the fight you just highlighted that in the fight he was getting the best of Zimmerman. Also Martin did not have scrapes .. he had ONE mark on his knuckles. Also there are 3 witnesses that say Zimmerman was on top. And the person who said Martin was on top have since changed their story.

And this suspicious conduct was walking...

See what you said .. you said that you have the legal right to WATCH him. Zimmerman went after Martin with a loaded weapon on his person .

Every step of the way it was Zimmerman who was showing signs of aggression ..
He was the one who was so bad he called Martin names.
He showed that he was upset that people like Martin always get away.
HE was the one who was went after him while carrying .
He was the one how started the whole incident.
Martin was just walking ...
The girl that was on the phone with Martin heard him say GET OFF ME .
And why would Martin start a fight while he was on the Phone?

Lastly would you say that skater was in the wrong here for beating up that other guy .

I suggest you listen to all the 911 calls. Your comments about witnesses and comments that Zimmerman made are totally incorrect.

You are correct that Martin had was a scrape on a knuckle. Obviously Zimmerman did not harm him. Zimmerman sustained the injuries I mentioned which is consistant with one who had been beaten.

Next you will say that it is okay to knock someone on the ground and beat them because they are watching you (a stranger) in their own neighborhood and that you do not have the right to defend yourself.

I will refer you back to the video I showed ... the person who had the most injuries did not start the fight . So can you prove that Martin started the fight? I mean this should be something simple .. since you claim that he did. Winning a fight and starting it are to different things. I will give you another example .



Since the person who had the most injuries was the little kid would you assume that he started it ?

And nothing I said about Zimmerman was incorrect .

For your statement it seems like you support the murder of Latasha Harlins.

Let us assume you are correct about Zimmerman starting the fight (which I do not believe, and you cannot prove). Martin who obviously had the upper hand in the beating, could have stopped his hitting Zimmerman (which was witnessed) and ran, but instead he continued beating Zimmerman until he was shot and killed.

It is unfortunate that Martin was suspended from school for possession of MJ therefore putting him in the area of the assault. His father since the young man obviously had issues should NOT have allowed him to be unsupervised at night. Martin was a troubled young man and the results are tragic for everyone involved

If Martin would have been on top of me slamming my head on the cement, I would scream for help and do whatever it took to STOP the beating. Self defense is a right. Martin was 6'3" 160lb an obviously tough young man.

The witness said that it was Martin on top of Zimmerman who was screaming for help. He screamed because he needed to be rescued from the beating.

Obviously you are ignorant to the juvenile justice system as Martin was known to them for possession of burglary tools and violence against a bus driver. No convictions, because in the juvenile system convictions do NOT exist only adjudications. Martin was far from being a model juvenile with his gold teeth, possession of drugs and flashing gang signs in pictures. These are documented facts.

First Martin's father lied to police then later admitted it was not his son's voice screaming for help on 911 tapes.
