Yet Even More Evidence Of Republican Voter Suppression

Proggy 2012/08/10 05:46:29
Former GOP chairman Jim Greer of Florida blows the whistle on GOP voter suppression and their attempt to issue in a new era of Jim Crow style tactics to suppress minority votes in particular. Simply more proof GOP is trying to stack the deck in their favor for the 2012 elections.

Yes there is "voter fraud" and the Republican party is committing it! The next time one of these right-wing knuckle-draggers come in your face with their constitution "small government" blah-blah-blah just remind them they want government so small that their trying legislate to strip people of their most sacred constitutional right, and doing on the basis of race no less.

Oh I see the left wing Obama zombies here need to be educated on exactly who Jim Greer is - a lair and a thief who the Republican party caught onto and threw out of the party. He is indicted on six counts of money laundering and fraud himself where he can face 30 years in prison on the money laundering charges alone and up to 79 years in prison on the all charges consecutively put together. His criminal case goes to trail this November. A grand Jury has already determined that the prosecution has enough evidence to reasonably proceed to a criminal trial. He is broke from both trying to pay for his defense team and the assets the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) ether ceased or froze. Even the Tampa bay newspapers have stated he has an ulterior motive behind his actions. these accusations of his didn't arise up until he filed a civil lawsuit (and stated in a deposition for that lawsuit) to gain a $130,000 severance pay the Republican party first promised to pay him and then suddenly refused to pay him when the truth about Victory Strategies came to light and how he used his position to direct Republican Party fundraising business through it without revealing to his party that he and another Republican party member, Delmar Johnson, where the owners and chief officers...

Even the Tampa bay newspapers have stated he has an ulterior motive behind his actions. these accusations of his didn't arise up until he filed a civil lawsuit (and stated in a deposition for that lawsuit) to gain a $130,000 severance pay the Republican party first promised to pay him and then suddenly refused to pay him when the truth about Victory Strategies came to light and how he used his position to direct Republican Party fundraising business through it without revealing to his party that he and another Republican party member, Delmar Johnson, where the owners and chief officers of that company, and never putting it up to a vote weather to use that firm or not as party rules dictate in cases were a member of the party is ether an officer or owner of a company or has an invested interest in that company. Greer and Johnson had stolen $200,000 of the Republican Party Funds and Greer himself pocketed $125,000 and Delmar Johnson, who has turned state's evidence against Greer in exchange for immunity, pocketed $65,000. Yeah, Greer will say and do anything to save his ass from prison and divert attention off of himself. Even Sen. Thrasher said that Greer is making "baseless accusations on other people in an effort to divert attention from himself.''

Here is the story as I understand it in fuller detail. In fact, you can Google "Greer" plus "Victory Strategies LLC" plus "Money Laundering" plus "Delmar Johnson" plus "Grey-Robinson" to get a better grip on the whole truth here.
While Jim Greer was Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF), every party expense had to be authorized by him. Well under his watch, he had orchestrated the firing RPOF head fundraiser Meredith O'Rourke who was being paid $30,000 a month, $360,000 a year, plus commission to raise money for the party mainly because she was closely tied to the Conservative wing of the party while Greer was more on the liberal side (that is not a joke).. He’d replaced her with a new agency called Victory Strategies LLC. He used his position to direct party business to that agency. Victory Strategies was to receive a 10% commission off the top for every donation or funds raised for the RPOF. What no one in the Party knew is, the chief officers and owners of Victory Strategies were Greer and Johnson and that they contracted the law firm (and major party donor) of Grey-Robinson to set up Victory Strategies so that it’s officers would not be known. Hence Greer was indeed money laundering when he was sending Party money to his own company without notifying the the party on who the officers of Victory Strategies were and not letting the party put it up to a vote on weather or not to used the firm. Oddly enough, Greer was forced out of office for other reasons - of which one was that he was charging on the Republican credit card things that had no relation to party business and another was that he was told to ether voluntarily resign or be voted out at the next party meeting - Greer agreed to resign voluntarily. He was promised an agreement to pay him a severance of $130,000 for the last year of service. But when an internal Party audit and an investigation of a $100,000 claim against Greer happened, the whole Victory Strategies money laundering scheme came to light. Then the party decided not to pay Greer his $130,000 severance. Instead. they decided to contact the FDLE and the FDLE investigated Mr. Greer, had him arrested, empanelled a Grand Jury to indict him instead and proceed to trial this November. It was in the deposition for a civil law filed by Mr. Greer to try and collect his $130,000 severance (fat chance), that Greer started to make his accusations to which 1) he has no proof, and 2) everyone he has mentioned in his deposition has also filed an affidavit against him stating that no such conversation ever took place and that Greer is lying. The Judge in the civil case deferred the civil case until the criminal case is resolved.

    2. Require proof of citizenship: refer to number 1
    3. Prohibit same-day voter registration: you get an isolated ballot or providential ballot. Both kept separate until it is proven it's a legal vote.
    4. Greatly reduce the time for early and absentee voting: my wife voted absentee with no delays or problems.
    5. Make it harder for minor felons to regain their right to vote: don't know, maybe they should have used their time to learn what it takes to regain something they lost!

I haven't had to show my ID to buy alcohol since I was 23. LOL. The last time I had to produce ID and birth certificate was in 1999 when I moved from Ca to Nv at dmv. And the most recent time I had to show my ID was at Silverado Casino when claiming a IRS reportable jackpot?

I dont have to show ID to commercial enterprises or private citizens and they dont have to "serve" me even if I do. I dont even have to provide documented identification to police, I just have to tell them my name when they have probable cause to inquire.

WTF police state do you live in that Government officials hound you daily for ID? LOL

There are people out there who want to circumvent the system and rig elections by having people vote multiple times, have dead people vote (See: Illinois, 1960) and illegals vote. We know that. We know there is already a need to protect the voting process. Too much is at stake here. Only those who want to cheat the system would oppose voter ID. If you don't agree, remove the rails from your balcony and let the kids play out there. How do you know there's a problem until somebody falls?

Why would you stop early voting? Why would shorten poll hours? Why would you cancel Sunday voting? Face it, republicans are committing voter suppression because they need a stacked deck to win. Just like they committed voter fraud back in 2000. It's been proven you right-wingers hate whistleblowers who expose your dirt. Just like when the Bush administration outed a CIA field operative then got their corrupt media network and all the right-wing hacks to attack. You're a party of corrupt people with corrupt purposes.

Not early voting, but mail in ballots except for the seriously impaired are a true issue. A federal case is under investigation in Dallas for a group that requested mail in ballots for seniors and then sent "helpers" to "help" them vote at their homes. Ironically all of them were requested by the same person on the same days NOT THE SENIORS. As for the whole use of school ID's to vote, remember that most college students maintain drivers licenses at their parents' homes. This means that they could use school ID's to vote a second time and that was done in the 2008 primaries where college students were urged to do that by overzealous campaign workers. Go view http://wewillnotbesilenced200... which is by Gigi Gaston, a Democrat, who interviewed other Democrats who witnessed vote shaving, fraud and delegate intimidation in the 2008 Democrat primaries. You need to realize that not all the concern is coming from Republicans. Many Democrats are quietly concerned about this as well.

Sorry dude, but a bunch of sore in the butt Hillary Clinton supporters who just can't give up the ghost make no case for the voter suppression that republicans have coordinated. A democratic primary is one thing where if a student is from one state and goes to school in another. As opposed to a general election where the election is held on one day and that student can only be in one place at one time. It still makes no case for the tactics republicans are touting to tip the scales in their favor.

I think you need to read my post on exactly who Jim Greer is. It is all verifiable on the net. This Obama Zombie is trying to make a hero out of a vindictive bitter greedy indicted liar and thief that the Republicans caught onto and threw out of the party themselves. Come November, at the end of his criminal trial, you can most likely add the word "Convict". to that list of words that describe him. He is saying anything to save his ass and divert attention off of himself and his up coming trial.
